Make the list. I'll start...

Things which are currently in the process of killing the planet (and which are, of course, being pre-empted by American Idol).
BP Gulf of Mexico oil spill - still flowing, baybee. (There are others .)
Fukushima reactors (how many? 4? 6?) melting down and flowing radioactive cooling waters into the Pacific Ocean. (Again, there are others .)
And, for those who wonder where the "conspiracy" is in collecting this list, I ask: Where's the damn list, if we don't make it ourselves?
EDIT: Added links.

Genetically Modified Crops
Pesticides (killing the bees?)
Modern corporate farming techniques in the meat and milk industry
Chemtrails
This could end up being a depressing list

and no I don;t mean haarp.....I mean the stuff you can actually prove.
3 entwithanaxe 2011-04-28
HAARP is provably built with at least one order of magnitude too many watts than its design specified.
I think an atmosphere-superheating device that we know exists counts as something potentially dangerous for the planet. What we can't prove is if they built it to help stop the 2012 disaster or to start it.

utter fucking nonsense...

I'm just going to say:
Dependence on non-renewable fossil fuel energy sources
-2 blacklou 2011-04-28
How do you know that crude isnt naturally made in the earth? Oh that's right...because they told you so
3 Benocrates 2011-04-28
What? How do you think crude is formed?
-2 blacklou 2011-04-28
dunno, but i doubt its from dinosaurs and decaying plant matter
2 Benocrates 2011-04-28
Well, not dinosaurs specifically, just biological matter and particular natural events. Why would you doubt that?
1 jasenlee 2011-04-28
Do you think that's a quick process that is easily renewable within a one to two ( human ) generation thing or something that takes millions of years?
2 entwithanaxe 2011-04-28
I thought it was natural, which doesn't still necessarily make it renewable at any rate in proportion to our use of it, never mind the energy that we put into refining it. What's your point? Free energy, zero energy, no energy? The earth and everything in it is a source of energy. That doesn't mean we should be using it. You want to drain our planet and then gas it?

-Poisoning/privatizing fresh water supplies
-Melting polar icecaps which release methane (much worse for warming than carbon)
-Desertification
-Plastic (from particles mimicking the beginning of the food chain to dead birds stuffed with it to giant plastic islands in our oceans)
-People

Is this a real thing? I've read articles that are both pro and con. I can't find anything that I think really sways my opinion one way or another.

Municipalities in my area debate this openly, and even let citizens vote on it:
