Since you admittedly aren't from around these parts, I understand why you don't quite understand. But those who have been in this community for any length of time see what is up with the numbers. And the numbers were fucky long before the Sinclair post it r/all. So please, feel free to stay around, but don't act like you are speaking with any sort of authority based on observation- you aren't from around here and you haven't been paying attention to the details of this place on a daily basis for months.

I've been around since mid 2016 and have noticed pretty big spikes in users whenever a mainstream topic hits /r/all . Followed by an inveitable "look at all these shills/bots/CTR!" It's honestly rather funny.

You should also have noticed the spikes that occur outside of events that reach r/all. You should notice that up until last October the average amount of users here were about 800-1000 a day, not 3000+. If you want to believe that there's not shills and bad actors hanging around here that's fine, but that doesn't make it not true.
