Did i just find zoomed in clear copy of the note Paddock left in Vegas room? Can anyone confirm authenticity?

Can anyone who has any experience with range calculations etc make any sense of that?
Can anyone confirm if this is a real photo or not?
Seems like he is trying to work out inital speed trajectory of bullets and then the speed after they hit target/richochet (collision)
If you compare that handwriting to the handwriting to the cheque for $14,000 for the car its very very similar.
Edit: User Eluisys, has pointed out some problems with the equation, sorry folks im leaning towards this being fake :( I had high hopes and as much as i want to believe it's real, Eluisys has pointed out some errors that i have no counter-argument for and his reasoning makes sense.

How do you know the calculation wasn't to shoot at the tanks .
He was interested in the speed of the bullet AFTER collision ... He would be interested to know the speed/impact the bullet is going to make after entering inside the tank.

Makes sense. I hear his gamertag is 360noscopePaddock

See kids? Math will be useful later on in life.

Handwriting is completely digital. Could have been converted with the scanning software, but that does not look like pen on paper.
Also, fotoforensics appears to show it was superimposed. http://fotoforensics.com/analysis.php?id=3a366b5d398ccd6b4e02a637c6a7c8b64f63eee7.488300

Can you explain what we are looking at there? Im not a forensic photo expert.
1 Dave_Rules 2017-11-17
I'm a novice myslef....but from what I understand, when you hover over the photo, anything that comes up as white, has been retouched.
Everything should be similar in color (black) but when you have sharp edges like that in white, then it's usually a separate layer in the document, or has been manipulated in one way or another.

It looks like someone wrote out the info on white paper, then cut the white layer of the paper away in photoshop, feathered it a bit and pasted the dark text onto a digital scan of the brown.. If you zoom in on the txt you can see the left over bright white pixels here or there in the writing. It's also why I suspect the lower straight line looks kind of like a pen running out of ink, being they had to hit feather a few times clear out the white back ground.
I'm pretty sure it's fake, but that's still just a guess. It's also possible that due to how the picture was taken etc that's why it looks that way. Yet go take and write out a bunch of notes right now and take a picture of them, none of them will look like that one does. Being the txt is clearly too digital.
It's also very possible all of that was done deliberately to mask how the info was leaked out. Yet if we were taking bets, I'm going with fake.

Im going with masked to hide how/when it was leaked

Jack Reacher anyone? Maybe he was assassinating a specific person, and killed 50 more to cover it up. Trajectory was to make sure he didn't miss that first kill.
1 mediocrityisevident 2017-11-17
I'd argue the trajectory and collision speed was for the fuel tanks..

Bump stock math.

Any "Math" people here on Reddit in general, that can explain it's meaning, even if it is authentic or not. Curious. This is like Kanji to me. Thanks.
1 mediocrityisevident 2017-11-17
99% sure it's authentic. Google search for the cheque paddock wrote out for the car and compare the handwriting. Extremely similar.

I never rose to the level of math where there are triangles involved. Letters are where I left off.
1 mediocrityisevident 2017-11-17
LMAO i just got to the triangle part when doing my own calculations using his forumla's, wtf is that lol?
Im gonna have to google range calculations to get any idea of whats going on there, either that or the math is way above my level
1 Eluisys 2017-11-17
The triangle is called delta. It means "the change in" so change in kinetic energy is the first term and change in potential energy is the second term.
1 mediocrityisevident 2017-11-17
hmm very interesting, thankyou for the information

I'm a junior in Aerospace Engineering right now. I see this shit all the time so I didn't stop to think that other people might not have learned it.
1 mediocrityisevident 2017-11-17
So Paddock is performing math that a Junior aerospace engineer would undertake, confirms the maths whiz theory even further.
If v = T/S , then what he is indicating when he denotes Vf = .. what does the small f stand for?
If you can be bothered can you try breakdown and explain some of the shorthand he used?
1 Eluisys 2017-11-17
Im on my phone so won't be able to do the formatting but the V1i gets mixed up and written at Vi1 or Vii sometimes. This is the velocity of the bullet. Vf is the final (hence the f) velocity of the block and bullet together. (Imma keep 3diting this cause I'm on my phone and have to keep backing out to look at the photo)
1 mediocrityisevident 2017-11-17
Thankyou very much appreciate the effort and any future edits. I really do.
1 mediocrityisevident 2017-11-17
Now i see why your saying it's merely a collision equation!!!! because at the end the only thing really measured is the sum total of the energy of the bullet and block together.
I understand the equation now a lil better i think. THANKS
1 mediocrityisevident 2017-11-17
You seem incredibly knowledgable when it comes to the equation side of things. Do you have any idea what the block weighing .222kg would represent or what he is trying to achieve by making that calculation?
1 Eluisys 2017-11-17
I can't see this being anything more than a simple collision problem. Stuff like penetration would require a lot more math such as the things you listed. I think this is a fake photo that someone made to mess with people.
1 mediocrityisevident 2017-11-17
You could be right about fake, i hope not. i've spent a good hour trying to figure it out LOL..
He denotes "trajectory" so surely he is trying to work out the trajectory or drop of the bullet under gravitational forces...
Providing it's not fake i'd love to know what the m2 block = 0.222kg means... Thats the part im struggling with. I found the "2g" in the final equation related to the type of Ammo being fired, but i have no idea what the 0.222kg is representing?
1 Eluisys 2017-11-17
That is the mass of the block kg denoting kilograms- the metric unit of mass roughly equal to 2.2 pounds
1 mediocrityisevident 2017-11-17
Thankyou for setting me straight about the 2g being gravity!
i think i solved what he used them for
Predicting trajectory collisions for multiple moving objects !!!!!!
1 Eluisys 2017-11-17
It's kind of like that. My guess is it is a physics problem where the question gives a initial speed of bullet, the block and bullet mass as well as saying something like " right after collision the block-bullet system falls .8m. Find the speed at this point".
1 mediocrityisevident 2017-11-17
Starting to think your right about it being a physics problem from a textbook.
4 bongs later and it's the only way i can explain the m2 block 0.222 figure...
If this was paddock's calculations then it would surely include the height of his room, the distance from target and the "block" used in the equation would be something would could relate to that he shot at..
Hate being wrong but this time i might be.
1 mediocrityisevident 2017-11-17
At the top it says M1 = mbullet = 0.0023kg m2 =Mbl?ck = 0.222kg Can anyone make out or interpret what the word that M2 is supposed to represent??
1 Eluisys 2017-11-17
It says "block" which has a mass of .222 which is then hit by a bullet. The equations are solving for the Vf which is the final speed of the block and bullet together. This is like a highschool physics problem
1 mediocrityisevident 2017-11-17
Yeah fantastic, if its a highschool physics problem explain the 2nd equation for me...
1 Eluisys 2017-11-17
