I have never understood this. The news makes a big deal about who the shooter was, what his life was like blah blah blah. This I have always felt made the shooter a kinda celebrity. When in reality should be nothing more than dust at out feet. They way the media fawns over shooters is appalling. It leads to crazys that would just off them selves in their moms basement, to follow in others footsteps an try to take as many people out as they can so that they are remembered
If they didn't give details about the shooter then people start complaining about information being withheld and then start speculating about conspiracy theories...
Would you like to explain how you would achieve that?
The second there’s a shooting there would 100% be people screaming for details who the shooter is, who they are connected to, are they an immigrant, will his friends and family pose a threat too. Literally an infinite number of questions surrounding the assailant.
No I don’t agree we should be making a celebrity our of them but I’m also realistic and know a large majority of the public would like to know as much as they can about the person and the situation.
Fields wasn't made a rockstar in Charlottesville though. The media had 12 days between him driving the car into the crowd and Hurricane Harvey. They barely scratched the surface of his background so something didn't fit their narrative.
No one died? Who do you think they got to be these actors who 'play' the victims, victims' families and friends etc? Because there would have to be a fuck load of normal everyday citizens being paid to keep a fucking huge secret. The fact is, some people are psychopaths, and sometimes those people want to kill other people. It sucks, but it's true.
That, and because he was Caucasian and even elderly, the words Domestic Terrorist or just plain old Terrorism won't be uttered by Repubs and Right Media at all...

Information can be given in a matter of fact manner without unhealthily obsessing. Don't be stupid.

People want to know why someone would do something like this.

Precisely. Mass shootings allow the opportunity to advance agendas. Let no crisis go to waste.

I understand what your saying, but what about the musician? I feel if he wasn't big then he will be now.
1 stinkstick17 2017-10-02
The guy on stage at the time? Jason Aldean, hes pretty big in the country world.
1 GranGoonYawn 2017-10-02
Now he is big in just the "world".
1 Afrobean 2017-10-02
I'd never heard of him before.
I sure as shit have now.
1 stinkstick17 2017-10-02
Well it was a three day festiville and he closed on the last night, so he basically headlined.
1 Kenitzka 2017-10-02
Then you don’t know country music. He’s one of the biggest names and has been for a couple years now since his quadruple platinum album in 2010.
1 Afrobean 2017-10-02
Wow, you got me. Just like most people in the world, I don't give a shit about country music. What does that matter?
1 Kenitzka 2017-10-02
Perspective matters. Just because you’ve never heard of him doesn’t amount to shit.
It’s more telling of your ignorance of music rather than his popularity.

I worked with a mid 30s guy that had never heard of George strait. Kinda blew my mind.

And if they didn't then people would complain that they are hiding his identity.
Catch 22

A person fleeing for their life because a non of people attacked their car isn't a mass shooting

Touché

You mean like how they put Dzokhar Tsarnaev on the front page of Rolling Stone after the Boston Bombing?
Well, that was a staged event where no one died. As many "terror attacks" and "mass shootings" over the last several years have been.
So I don't really see the point of this.
1 munchkin_9382 2017-10-02
I totally forgot about the rolling stone thing!

Healing thoughts to our neighbours, from Canada.
