What's the real reason "White People" aren't allowed to express pride?
108 2017-08-16 by c0ntr0ll
You can have black pride, latino pride, gay pride, and more. But why is white pride taboo?
Do white people have no accomplishments to be proud of? How about this website? How about electricity? How about the internet? How about the microsoft computer you are using? Or the apple one? Just some minor examples. Complaining about the systems created by white people on systems created by white people seems somewhat misguided.
Why are Caucasians labeled with things like "white privilege?"
Do other races not have specific privileges?
Having "black pride" or "gay pride" will only exist in a world where we are not equal. For if we are truly equal, black pride and gay pride would be the same as white pride, and they either would all be taboo or none of them would be.
Accepting "black pride" or "gay pride" but not "white pride" as a rational way of thought, is to perpetuate inequality itself.
White people have lots to be proud of, and telling them they can't because of "systematic oppression" is a victim mentality that does nothing to progress the group of people who feel that way.
When white people share culture it's okay, when they borrow others it's called appropriation. Isn't the point of having a strong and positive culture to share it with other people?
The same people who demand countries like Sweden or Germany give up their borders, resources, and culture, have very little interest in assimilating into their society. Have you ever noticed how even in major cities tribalism still exists? What is the point of moving from China to America or Canada to not assimilate with the current society and instead create Chinatown etc?
Perhaps it is not the several dozen Caucasian cultures that all differ greatly, that have a weak cultural identity they are trying to protect by not sharing it?
Give me one good reason white people shouldn't be proud. And if you name slavery or history from over 2000 years ago, I'll gladly share all of the miserable things other cultures have done over the course of time.
Try making an argument in the present. In 2017.

Here we be
262085863+your SSN, name in all caps to pay your bills from one of your many secret trust/bond accounts. Awaken humanity, the golden age is inside of each of you.
1 -G-A-R-D-E-N-E-R- 2017-08-16
could be used as a honeypot selectively.
do you remember 'redeemed for value?'
Technically one is defrauding the bank/government through wirefraud, just because it works— Doesn't' mean it's legal.
1 YoureAllRobots 2017-08-16
Correct, but the people have to be woken up and what is the best way to explain to them what has been going on? Allow them to access their accounts on a limited basis and spread the word. The accounts have been accessed by so many already, word is spreading like wildfire. Redeem for value is completely different and never proven true...unlike this.
1 -G-A-R-D-E-N-E-R- 2017-08-16
Get in the Treasury of Heaven for me and help me redeem others then.
1 jaydwalk 2017-08-16
Does this actually work?
1 YoureAllRobots 2017-08-16
Yes, thousand have done it. Only 2 have been arrested, because they spent $2.5million on CD's and an RV. Again, they used their SSN numbered account with their all CAPS name from their SSN card, so they are being fraudulently held.
That said, this movement is about unity and forgiveness and moving forward together in a free united States of America. We are trying to kickstart the new world by helping to expose the fraud that you are here trying to discover right now.
1 jaydwalk 2017-08-16
So use the routing number and SSN as a card number and it will work?
1 YoureAllRobots 2017-08-16
They put out new numbers every couple of weeks. "They" shut the numbers down after a day or two. We have amassed a wealth of proof and information to back our claims. The world can change, but people need to stop living in fear and claim their life, as you are considered "dead, lost at sea". Check out Harvey Dent, Mike O'Brien, Anna Von Reitz and many others reporting this online.

No, it's an old scam.
1 jaydwalk 2017-08-16
Whats the scam?
1 Shit_in_a_Shoe 2017-08-16
What the hell is this? I've never seen this before.
1 Yserbius 2017-08-16
Sovereign Citizen (or some similar group) claptrap. There are people who believe that every US citizen has registered to them a series of secret bank accounts that the government uses. These accounts are registered to a name which is your name but in ALL CAPITAL LETTERS. So they claim you can access this money if you fill out certain forms with your name in ALL CAPS.
It gets weirder and weirder every month. I guess this "magic number" in front of the SSN is the latest installment. Last year it was signing your name with a red pen and putting the date in the margin.

Justification for 'white pride' parades are off the table when you wave nazi flags and shout "Jews will not divide us".
1 c0ntr0ll 2017-08-16
Except Jews refer to other people as Goyim (ie: a lesser people) and have supremacy baked directly into their culture.
They also have been committing war crimes against Palestine for decades, and the country of Israel breaks over 64 international laws per day.
There are plenty of white people who are not Nazis. They are not allowed to have pride because some white people are Nazis? I suppose black people shouldn't have pride because some of them are Crips and Bloods gang members?
1 I_am_BrokenCog 2017-08-16
So, because they're bad people you'll be a bad person?
1 TempestCatalyst 2017-08-16
Why do people keep trying to use "Well they do it" as justification on this sub. It's okay to be racist because they do it. It's okay to be corrupt because they do it. It's okay to bribe people because they do it. It's okay to rig an election because they do it.
I was under the impression that conspiracy theorists wanted to be better than those in power.
1 lowkeygod 2017-08-16
That makes sense. So everyone call him racist until he learns respect. /S
1 DefiniteShill 2017-08-16
Ok cool, I'm sure that really comforts the Jewish family living down the block when they hear a mob of white people chanting "Jews will not replace us"
1 outtanutmeds 2017-08-16
If I heard that, I'd ask "who wants to"?
1 c0ntr0ll 2017-08-16
They could always go back to murdering Arab people and stealing their homes via Israel. In fact, Israel WANTS more Jewish people to return home. They literally have the option of moving any time they like to a country that will fully accept and embrace them.
Speaking of which. Jews are Caucasian. They are white people. This post isn't about nazi pride, it's about white pride.Just another example of prejudice against whites, if you want to argue it that way.
1 DefiniteShill 2017-08-16
It's not about Nazi pride, yet you're just dying to go on anti-Jew diatribe? Hmm
1 c0ntr0ll 2017-08-16
White people have faults. All races do. All religions do. But some Jews act with supremacy, just like Nazis. It's a fact. Neither group is great, but would you consider them equal in bigoted ideology? Israel has been committing genocide against Palestine for years. Sound familiar?
1 DefiniteShill 2017-08-16
I'm not interested in defending the Israeli government but I will say that I don't think everyday, regular Jewish people should have to be intimidated or held respon single for those acts.
1 c0ntr0ll 2017-08-16
Hasn't the majority of the country enlisted and served in the army?
1 DefiniteShill 2017-08-16
I'm talking about Jews in America for the sake of this argument, since you were talking about these type of pride parades in America.
1 dont4geturhere4ever 2017-08-16
Israel has mandatory service, so no, the majority did not enlist.
1 The_Deep_State 2017-08-16
You just made so many generalizations it's hysterical.
Pretty clear you have no clue what you're talking about lol.
1 c0ntr0ll 2017-08-16
No not all. But many.
1 targetedindividual 2017-08-16
Some jews, some muslims, some christians, but also some blacks, some whites, some asians, some latinos. But wait there's more... in certain historical events it's been some germans, some french, some chinese, some americans, some japanese, some russians.
There might be a pattern in this depending on the perception you have about what community or group you feel you might belong and therefore defines you.
1 jaydwalk 2017-08-16
Not racist but the jewish community does seem to own ALOT of major businesses throughout the world. Mostly the entertainment industry TV and movies. Which in turn gives them every avenue to brainwash as much as they can..
1 I_am_BrokenCog 2017-08-16
And, yet, the largest and wealthiest corporations are not Jewish owned.
All the major oil company in the US was started by a white of European descent.
Walmart
Amazon
Apple
IBM
Boeing
Hearts Newspapers
How many whites are needed to be the majority dominating culture??
1 jaydwalk 2017-08-16
Yet the businesses that can manipulate the mind are...so what does that say?
1 I_am_BrokenCog 2017-08-16
It says white male european culture has been dominating your thoughts for the past 250+ years.
1 jaydwalk 2017-08-16
Not their culture their agenda...
1 I_am_BrokenCog 2017-08-16
Yes. Corporate and Wealth based Agenda driven near exclusively by white male Europeans.
1 outtanutmeds 2017-08-16
Jews control the central banking. Without the central banking all of your Gentile owned corporations would not exist.
1 jaydwalk 2017-08-16
Copy and paste much? I'm talking about the largest corps that have access to controlling what you think...
1 I_am_BrokenCog 2017-08-16
As in which company?
"Media" companies are definitely the fore front of propaganda, however not the source or the real motivated players.
A typical oil company move is to spend a few million on some "green" research, and then spend 100 million on PR blitzing that work. Then usually dumping the project. Is this the media shaping opinion, or the oil company?
Information dissemination (media) is largely a conduit fed and directed by the Wealth and Corporate interests. This is exactly the reason for which all the previously independent media companies (ABC, CBS, etc) have been purchased by large Corporations.
1 jaydwalk 2017-08-16
All entertainment industries. TV, Movies...anything visual that is in your face. Media, news, entertainment are mostly run by Jewish owners and CEO's. I thought it was pretty clear here in conspiracy that brainwashing through entertainment is a fact.
1 I_am_BrokenCog 2017-08-16
I'm not contesting that propaganda (brainwashing isn't a thing any more than lie detectors) is a thing. I'm trying to expand your perception of what the source and motivation of the propaganda. Movies and TV entertainment are not as influential as you make out -- or do you subscribe to the notion that FPS video games are the reason for mass school shootings? Media related to information dissemination - aka news, that is the propaganda medium which shapes our public discourse.
There are a lot of Jewish people in America. They do not "control the media" despite owning some media corporations.
Correlation not Causation. Because some news media are owned by Jewish people does not mean that all the media outlets which are anti-fascist/anti-racist/etc are Jewish owned: It means that those medium's are not bigots, regardless of the religious affiliation of the owners.
The projection of blame for current problems being the result of Jewish people's controlling some (small) number of corporations (whether news or not) is a scapegoat for people to avoid confronting reality. The reality that Corporation and Wealth (vast majority of which is White European controlled) have downtrodden the middle-class/working-class/etc for the sake of their greed based profits.
1 jaydwalk 2017-08-16
They are literally using brainwashing techniques and subliminal message through TV, and also repetition. Repetition is key to get an idea to sink in and get someone to think a certain way.
TV stations receive scripts they have to read verbatim, not even the same networks get the exact same script. Someone is controlling the message and the viewpoint of the audience...
Or how about this: https://www.google.com/patents/US6506148
1 I_am_BrokenCog 2017-08-16
First, no brainwashing as you are using is not a thing.
Secondly, yes subliminal messaging is possible in a syncrhonous medium as TV, it is not a thing either. I guess on this one I'm always looking for evidence so if you have it I'd watch. But, then, in the past 40 years of this idea bouncing around tinfoil hats it is still there.
Third, yes, TV is scripted. In fact the even Reality TV is scripted!! Can you believe that?!
You know who is controlling the message and the viewpoint? The corporations and the wealth which own those TV stations, newspapers or internet websites. For instance, bet you don't know who owns Brietbart, and since when. What about ZeroHedge?
As for that patent thingy ... Have you looked into any TEMPEST patents? Or maybe some Stuxnet patents? Not going to find much, champ. Maybe because if you're being controlled by a secret cabal, with nefarious plans of domination and elite tech they won't be flashing it in your face? What that means is even if what you are saying is correct it wouldn't be accurate: because then they wouldn't be the unknown, secret cabal anymore would they?
1 lowkeygod 2017-08-16
Racist! /s
1 rabbidrascal 2017-08-16
Jew's are wildly successful in the avocations they decide to pursue. Many see this as an example of a conspiracy, as opposed to smart people working hard with the support of their community.
Why do white supremacists see success from hard work as a threat?
1 jaydwalk 2017-08-16
I'm not a white supremacists...when I see what TV and movies put out, satanic, agenda driven media that's when I call bullshit. They are controlling out minds literally.
https://www.google.com/patents/US6506148
1 kb1kb1 2017-08-16
I love shit like this. If they are literally controlling our minds you should have proof or a source as you state this as fact. I'd love to know exactly how i am being mind controlled.
1 jaydwalk 2017-08-16
Repetition is key to get an idea to sink in and have the audience think a certain way. Why do you think civilians regurgitate the exact talking points from MSM...MSM is controlling the message from the top. Throw in a bit of subliminal message, that your conscious mind can't see, but your subconscious mind can...
This: https://www.google.com/patents/US6506148
You've been here for 4 years and have always been defending that brainwashing and things like MKUltra don't exist? Why are you even here then?
1 c0ntr0ll 2017-08-16
You don't need to pre-face that you aren't a racist when making comments about your own race. Jewish people are for the most part, Caucasian.
1 jaydwalk 2017-08-16
Well these days you never know. Also doesn't the Jewish community believe they are a different race?
1 ProWresBlog2 2017-08-16
Believe it or not, the confederate culture is all most Southerners really have of their history. They've been there for 150+ years. That's why the stars and bars is such a thing there.
1 TrumpRusConspiracy 2017-08-16
They have grits though. Grits are awesome.
1 zippityd0dah 2017-08-16
The cheesier, the better.
1 TrumpRusConspiracy 2017-08-16
Over easy eggs mixed with grits and sausage man. Nothing beats that.
1 Horaenaut 2017-08-16
My favorite southern heritage is heritage I can eat.
That's probably my favorite part of most heritages if I'm honest.
1 TrumpRusConspiracy 2017-08-16
I know right? I grew up in the deep red south, but the food is one of the things I really miss.
1 Aluminoti 2017-08-16
As long as they aren't instant grits. No self-respecting southerner uses instant grits.
1 TrumpRusConspiracy 2017-08-16
1 c0ntr0ll 2017-08-16
It's clear to me that every single person in the south is a beer drinking wife hitting redneck racist that watches Judge Judy and shoots shotguns into the air.
My cable television told me so.
1 MoreLike-TurdCrapley 2017-08-16
YOU LEAVE JUDGE JUDY OUT OF THIS!
1 c0ntr0ll 2017-08-16
Those crackers love Judge Judy because none of them have jobs and they are half drunk by 2pm when it comes on.
1 MoreLike-TurdCrapley 2017-08-16
Some of us have DVR thank you!
1 Flytape 2017-08-16
No racial slurs, rule 1.
1 c0ntr0ll 2017-08-16
is it still a rule one if i put /s at the end of my clearly sarcastic statement?
1 Flytape 2017-08-16
Yes, we don't want racial slurs here. If you're quoting someone who is noteworthy such as a public or historical figure then we'll allow it.
1 jaydwalk 2017-08-16
What if I view my self as noteworthy /s...
1 groman32 2017-08-16
Someone really wants to use racial slurs
1 c0ntr0ll 2017-08-16
Actually I just wanted a clarification on the interpretation of the rules. Do you have anything of value to say?
1 Evil_Skip_Bayless 2017-08-16
The funny this is outside of the metropolitan cities in the south it's very much just country people. Not rednecks but they are what they are.
1 groman32 2017-08-16
Fucking sad. I guess that's what happens when you make slaves do everything for you. You become lazy and stupid and cannot produce culture of value.
1 ansultares 2017-08-16
How isn't this equally applicable to Islam?
1 Ninjakick666 2017-08-16
It is kinda like "unsportsmanlike conduct" or adding insult to injury... no need to rub it in everyone's faces.
1 NervousPilot 2017-08-16
Yeah, that held water for a long time - but in an age where white people are being seen as an evil for their skin colour, i'm not so sure anymore.
1 Ninjakick666 2017-08-16
It's only online where white people are evil...
1 NervousPilot 2017-08-16
I also agree with you there. Where the problem arises is with most people getting all their news from the internet. It's a subtle, long-term play that won't reap it's crop for another generation. Large online media will keep pushing regardless. Where you don't see anti-male rhetoric, you'll see anti-white in some form or another. I don't think the solution is to ignore it and trust in society, unfortunately. This stuff is translating to the real world and dismissing it has the side effect of validating it.
1 Ninjakick666 2017-08-16
Thats just us hardcore nerds doing that... suprise... most people don't get their news from anywhere. Most people just don't care about this type of shit... just like I don't know what is going on on the Guiding Light or General Hospital... normal people haven't even heard the word antifa enough times to recognize it... it's just nerdy folks that spend more time online than off that get wrapped up in caring about this kind of drama.
1 NervousPilot 2017-08-16
If you can't see the pitfalls in what you're saying I'm afraid I can't help. Too nihilistic for my liking. Most people are unwillingly being fed shit by their own hand, and I believed that has to change. Just saying "lolz its just the internet nerds having drama" is not a terribly insightful or true statement. I think you're in the right mindset. There's a civil war brewing across the western world, and the media are ready to sell it.
1 Ninjakick666 2017-08-16
This is just a bunch of LARPing people with matching shields and cool helmets... I'll wait until it has escalated to gunfire before I choose a side... but it won't... cause only one side has guns and they aren't using them.
1 EricCarver 2017-08-16
Yeah, no one sees whites on the street as evil. Everyone has their predjudices, but when we all keep them to ourselves, life goes on.
Old fights get forgotten. As races intermix, they will need to find something else to separate people. Give it time, especially now that whites are losing majority count. Pray the new majority is nicer than whites were.
1 pizzaanarchy 2017-08-16
Sorry, bud, whites have never been the majority in the world, ever.
1 ansultares 2017-08-16
History shows that's not likely.
1 TrumpRusConspiracy 2017-08-16
I'm so glad that you are against racism and bigotry. Will you fight against racism and bigotry that targets other races as well?
1 NervousPilot 2017-08-16
That's funny... I don't break down my bigots by who or why they target. Being Irish I have always identified with the struggles of minorities. I never saw racism as being about colour, it's about finding any excuse to hate. Irish people are white but it didn't stop all sorts of mad "phrenelogical studies", etc. being used to justify seeing us as subhuman. Primarily using skin colour is an oversimplification and like most divides that are driven, won't help us get to the bottom of jack shit.
Nice loaded comment though, great insinuation ploy. It must suck; looking for demons everywhere. I knew I wouldn't be able to post on this issue without a freaking disclaimer explaining my background and beliefs. You'd probably just seize that as "I'm not a racist, but...", so I can't win, can I? As a child I was held at an airport for terror checks, too. Would you like to talk about that?
1 TrumpRusConspiracy 2017-08-16
That's quite the strawman you built up, and has nothing to do with what I asked or talked about or even implied.
1 HibikiSS 2017-08-16
Not really, TPTB want to eliminate all ethnic identities so no one is allowed to have any kind of self pride. They are cruel to whites because they see them as their greatest rivals.
1 TheHillofTara 2017-08-16
Lots of white cultures celebrate their cultural pride.
1 c0ntr0ll 2017-08-16
That's great. They have the same right to do that as everyone else, it's called equality.
Why do some people feel it should be taboo?
Can other races even admit their friends and family members can be prejudice toward white people as well?
Currently, Twitter is going after celebrity Kim Karadshian for not being sensitive enough to African American matters. Kim Kardashian is Armenian and knows full-well the history of genocide, but that's not good enough for echo chamber trolls on the internet.
1 TheHillofTara 2017-08-16
That's pop culture. That doesn't matter really.
But culturally pride doesn't equal racial pride. Being white doesn't make me proud, my culture does.
America is always going to have racial issues. Always.
1 ansultares 2017-08-16
In that case, we'll always have douchebags shitting all over our culture in the name of "fighting racism."
And a continued erosion of the education system, as it becomes ever more imperative to brainwash those kiddies into becoming tomorrow's race warriors.
1 TheHillofTara 2017-08-16
No one is shitting on my culture.
Apart from my government.
1 TrumpRusConspiracy 2017-08-16
German fest and Irish festivals are held annually where I'm living and it's celebrated by everyone. It's not a taboo.
1 ScaredycatMatt 2017-08-16
Because of what white Americans and white Englishmen have done in the past.
Funny thing is that no matter how many generations will come and go, this will still be said.
In 500 years we'll have black people with their pride movements, every other race with their pride and white people, a minority at this point no doubt, will be told "No you can't actually".
1 c0ntr0ll 2017-08-16
What about the dozens of other white cultures.
I know it's not unlike the West to demonize other white nations such as Russia. The Russia boogie man wore off so now we're onto triggered people with the "nazis."
1 ScaredycatMatt 2017-08-16
I agree with you. I'm Irish and white. We've done nothing to any other race and at the end of the day, I'll be grouped in with all this bullshit as well simply because I'm white.
1 EricCarver 2017-08-16
And being that you are Irish, you'll be thick skinned and not really care too much about it.
1 groman32 2017-08-16
Irish people betrayed black people back in the 17th and 18th century. They accepted the designation of "white" in exchange for participating in the oppression of blacks.
I say this as a person of Irish descent who studied his history in earnest.
1 ansultares 2017-08-16
And blame all Irish for being in any way related to the "ones who betrayed," right?
Or do we blame no Irish because none of them alive today had anything to do with some grievance suffered centuries ago?
1 ScaredycatMatt 2017-08-16
Hahaha. I am Irish, I live in Ireland and have done my whole life. I've studied Irish history closely.
I am not listening to "white supremacists who feed me", but thanks for being so condescending.
I don't owe anything to anyone. I'm not going to be guilted into thinking I deserve this abuse because the black slaves had it worse than the Irish, who you admit were treated terribly.
1 Chuck_Rogers 2017-08-16
What do you mean?
1 littleking12 2017-08-16
Look at what Africans did during the same time periods and tell me what the differences are. You will find the only real difference is scale and European technology. Before the Romans there was Egypt look at what they did and tell me blacks did not perpetuate slavery. Look at Asian history and tell me Asians did not have more slaves than Europeans.
1 ScaredycatMatt 2017-08-16
Absolutely agree with you. I'm just saying that these are the arguments made now.
1 IthAConthpirathee 2017-08-16
What about all the horrible atrocities that have been committed by other races in the past. By this logic, any sort of ethnic pride should abhorred by society.
1 ScaredycatMatt 2017-08-16
I agree with you. I'm just explaining what their arguments are.
1 IthAConthpirathee 2017-08-16
A lot of these new "progressive" ideologies make me feel like I am living in that movie Idiocracy. They require you to throw logic, history and facts out the window. It is kinda scary honestly.
1 groman32 2017-08-16
In 500 years I hope there won't be a need for pride movements anymore.
1 ReptilianDystopia 2017-08-16
This is just right wing propaganda bullshit.
1 c0ntr0ll 2017-08-16
Very strong counter argument. Next label me a racist and a bigot. Then hit me.
1 lowkeygod 2017-08-16
Racist! White male! How dare you believe something. Didn't I tell you about believing in anything. /s
1 ReptilianDystopia 2017-08-16
You dumb? Seems very suspicious, the lengths at which you go to strawman the shit out of me.
I won't say either of those things. I will say this though: stop being a victim.
1 c0ntr0ll 2017-08-16
Yes. It's me who thinks I am a victim.
1 ReptilianDystopia 2017-08-16
Yeah. Reread your post.
Screams victimization akin to SJW's to me.
1 c0ntr0ll 2017-08-16
any other labels today?
1 ReptilianDystopia 2017-08-16
More victimization?
If you can't argue a point, don't post. I said that this was right wing propaganda. You know how I know? Because I know that its more divisive woe is me bullshit.
Rule of thumb: if it divides, chances are that its bullshit. That's the one rule I go by. So when I see Dear White People on MTV, I know its bullshit. Similarly, when I see whites victimizing themselves, as if they have it so hard, as if other races have it so fucking easy, I know that its also bullshit.
Personally I think that pride for something that you yourself have not achieved is dumb, but otherwise, I don't have a problem with it.
1 c0ntr0ll 2017-08-16
I've stated my love for all cultures multiple times in this thread. All you have done is label a person you know nothing about.
1 ReptilianDystopia 2017-08-16
Its about acknowledging the fact that everyone suffers. Its not just you, in your bubble. Its the world. The entire world.
And I didn't call you a racist. Why do you keep implying that I did? I said that your post was right wing propaganda. I am telling you not to fall into that trap, that many do. Its divisive.
1 c0ntr0ll 2017-08-16
The hardest place to stand is in the middle. Where people attack you from both sides and accuse you of being from both sides.
1 ChelseaClintonsTeeth 2017-08-16
Dude, these people will never give you an inch. Any pride you put in your ancestry will be spun as you supporting white nationalism. If you want some advice, make as much money as you can and network with people behind the scenes, because a storms coming.
1 c0ntr0ll 2017-08-16
But I think nationalism is stupid lol.
1 ChelseaClintonsTeeth 2017-08-16
Then you will lose your nation. It's really not about skin color. We didn't even use to call people white, we called them Lithuanians, poles, Italians. But the one thing that sewed all of us together was our Christian identity. That is what is under attack. That's why the marriage and nuclear family is being destroyed.
When you realize it's a spiritual war, not a race war or an economic war, it's much easier to see what the sides are. Feminism, Marxism, post modernism, Freudian psychoanalysis, all intellectual inventions created to destroy Christian institutions.
1 ansultares 2017-08-16
Welcome to race conversation in 2017 America.
How does your quoted statement apply to other discussions of race? Or gender, for that matter.
1 ansultares 2017-08-16
I suspect that's the whole point.
He probably wouldn't be saying anything if SJWs weren't given platforms to spew their hate speech.
1 Horaenaut 2017-08-16
Well, you literally do think you are a victim here...
and here
and here
and here
And the whole point of this post is that you are a victim because you can't yell white pride in park without someone thinking you might be racist.
What do you actually want to do celebrating white pride that you think you can't do now?
1 c0ntr0ll 2017-08-16
Social conditioning and political correctness means if I say I'm not emotionally triggered by someone else's uneducated opinion that I'm a bigot too, right?
This is a questioning of another person's logic. It has literally no basis in victimization.
Many Caucasian cultures have been enslaved, some for upwards of 500 years by arab people. European countries should allow middle eastern refugees to freely cross their border though, right?
You are presuming my race.
Very strong counter argument. Next label me a racist and a bigot. Then hit me.
That's called sarcasm. The person barely had even made a remark about anything tangible.
There are plenty of white people who are not Nazis. They are not allowed to have pride because some white people are Nazis? I suppose black people shouldn't have pride because some of them are Crips and Bloods gang members?
How is thinking federally illegal gang members being glorified by the media is weird a form of being or feeling victimized. How do you get in a gang again?
1 Horaenaut 2017-08-16
Asking if someone would add the insult of directly calling you a racist and bigot is a victimhood statement.
I think I am safe in presuming your race--please let me know if you are a Filipino person supremely concerned about white people not being able to say "white pride" without being looked at askance.
Your argument about "why is white pride more offensive than black pride?" would make perfect logical sense without the context of history. But we have the context of history, despite your argument that we need something recent to justify this. I'm white. My parents were on the wrong side of the Civil Rights movement and school integration. Is that recent enough?
Honestly, I feel bad for people who have nothing to be proud of besides their race, but I certainly understand it more for people of races who were legislated against based on their race than for white folks who felt it was discriminatory when they couldn't do that anymore.
1 c0ntr0ll 2017-08-16
Much like gay pride, I find racial pride somewhat ridiculous. Why define yourself solely by race or sexual orientation. It doesn't serve you as an individual. It limits you.
1 Horaenaut 2017-08-16
Well, when it has been mostly denied you since the foundation of the country, I kinda get the overcorrection.
I live somewhere where I am a minority race, and while it is only a fraction of what other races have experienced in the U.S., you feel yourself stick out when you don't look like the people in a mile radius of you. You also feel an innate pull to the random people in your neighborhood who do look like you, because it feels like they might have a shared experience based on their same race in your location. It takes effort to get over the easy bias race affords, especially coupled with the legal history of our country.
1 ansultares 2017-08-16
I think he's trying to determine why it's such a social bugaboo that a group of protesters wasn't allowed to demonstrate peacefully, but instead were confronted with a counterprotest and eventual violence.
1 Horaenaut 2017-08-16
The Unite the Right Rally was advertised as a chance to confront Antifa, BLM et al. The organizers were not there to demonstrate peacefully any more than the antifa were there to peacefully confront them. This was a planned battle for everyone who brought a stick or shield.
So yeah, I think you can't stage a brawl in a park in the name of white pride, but you probably can't stage a brawl in a park in the name of Asian pride either.
1 PlayStationVRShill 2017-08-16
Have you been struck for your beliefs? Do you attend white power branded events?
I do not advocate punching literal neo-nazis, or whatever form of bigot is on display, to be clear. Al long as there just talking. On the flip side, IMO, it's better to not make them into maytyrs, and simply show scorn and disapproval at beliefs that need violence towards others to be accomplished. Self segregate all you fucking want, homeboys. Just don't force it on others, like anything else. I don't care if you're proud of your heritage, good for you. Yelling about won't be replaced is the fear of impotency, and I'll engage in a stereotype here and assume that most actual racist swine has inferiority complexes, and likely engages in repetive behaviors that enforce these ideas. Actual cucked little dicked morons who hate blacks till fantasy football day at the rap concert. Sorry that's a divergence, but I'LL NEVER understand why racists engage in the cultures they supposedly hate, if they're not trying to better themselves. Maybe this is just an Ohio thing, but it was like that in parts of Nj, Nc and KY. Memphis and philly, however, felt different. There was some racial tension, but it wasn't the same. They felt like places where everyone had one culture. On the other side, minorities will always feel singled out and vulnerable, unable to just be nondescript, and forced to deal with constant cultural awkwardness.
One of my buddy's once told me the story of when he first met his wife's parents. She didn't tell them he was black, and they just happened to make fried chicken. He fucking loves fried chicken, not because he's black, but because it's awful for you and delectable and awesome. The mom was so embarrassed, she blurted out "she didn't warn me you were black, I wasn't being racist." Then tried to take the chicken away and order pizza. He did not want to be rude, but he wanted the damm homemade chicken, so he just told her that it was actually genetically impossible for a black man to turn down fried chicken made by white ladies. She then told him HE was being racist, even though he was just trying to kid. She never made them fried chicken again, either. For the record, he said it was kinda dry anyhow, but the casserole was good. This was one of the odder tales he told me, most, however, were just depressing.
All kinds of people are snowflakes, it's just about different shit.
1 c0ntr0ll 2017-08-16
TLDR: Fried chicken is delicious and everyone should like it.
1 Balrogz14 2017-08-16
I was going to say your reply to the top rated comment was the literal thing you wrote here. "Very strong counter argument"
1 c0ntr0ll 2017-08-16
My response to the top comment is that they listed a bunch of ethnic minorities that only constitute a majority when you falsely lump them all into a broad generalized demographic called "white people" and assume each of those cultures is the reason for systematic oppression of African Americans (even though most of them are not).
1 VancouverSucks 2017-08-16
You are not very smart if that's all you have to say.
1 ReptilianDystopia 2017-08-16
And you're just not very smart.
Walked right into that one.
1 yaharon 2017-08-16
The nwo finds white men the hardest demographic to control so they want to eliminate their voting majority and erode their influence in the world.
1 Rd2See-Leusi 2017-08-16
Bingo.
1 groman32 2017-08-16
Why are they the hardest demographic to control...?
1 yaharon 2017-08-16
I'm not sure exactly. It's probably got something to do with their general excellence and ability to promote freedom and independance in governance. Most great political, scientific, and philosophical advancements have come from white men. You know how it's alleged that we only use 10% of our brains... It's possible that white men, generally speaking, have brains functioning at the highest relative capacity.
1 groman32 2017-08-16
Is there a part of the white man's brain that makes them so susceptible to racism?
1 yaharon 2017-08-16
Uh okay. Biology matters, a lot. It's an incredibly important factor in outcomes, if not the most important. You apparently don't know history very well. Genocide and slavery happened everywhere and europeans were far from the worst. Europeans were the first people to make slavery illegal, which says a lot. The "very seedy history" is an outright lie, Europeans changed the world for the better, many times over... I said to the fool in a far away place, typing into my electronic communication device, in a free country, with an hdi unheard of in non white countries until they received white technology.
1 God_of_Light 2017-08-16
Because if everything is truly equal no one will be able to claim "victim status".
1 c0ntr0ll 2017-08-16
Ruling by minority and "moral superiority" are two very popular tactics in governance.
1 LightBringerFlex 2017-08-16
Pride isn't the real problem. The problem is when individuals or entire groups elevate themselves above others in a way where they falsely believe they are superior to others.
There is to better or best. There is only different. Each individual is a unique entity with their own set of skills they developed in life. Some people are better axmen, some are better security gaurds, some are better waiters, some are better janitors, some are this and some are that. Everyone has a place in the world.
Think of it like tools. Is the hammer better than the screwdriver? Nope. Each have their time and place and both make our lives easier. Each person is capable of making life easier for all of us by taking up a position of work in this world. We need our janitors just as much as we need our doctors. Life would be miserable if nobody cleaned those toilets or cured our health.
No group is higher or lower. Some groups have been abused for so long that it has left them in a state of damage that can be repaired if the prejudice would just stop.
Basically, everyone is equally as important as everyone.
1 c0ntr0ll 2017-08-16
Of course they are. But who is perpetuating an obsession with race and identity politics?
1 TrumpRusConspiracy 2017-08-16
White supremacists?
1 LightBringerFlex 2017-08-16
The cabal has been using these tactics to compartmentalize the people into separate groups for many decades now.
1 jaydwalk 2017-08-16
This makes sense to me, but if I was to voice this anywhere else I'd probably be clubbed...
1 Chuck_Rogers 2017-08-16
Sure you'd be clubbed.
No way you wouldn't be violently assaulted
1 throwawawyy2 2017-08-16
How? Black culture exists. Black pride is being proud of black culture. "White" culture doesnt exist. German and irish cultures exist. Celebrate those. And inventions are a individual thing not a cultural thing like rap music or the blues
1 jaydwalk 2017-08-16
So what should I celebrate when I am English, Scottish, German, Native American, and Irish?
Let's leave "white" out of it, can I celebrate being American?
1 outtanutmeds 2017-08-16
There are no pure "white" people in the United States like there are in Sweden. Just about every white person in America has some Native American blood, some Black blood, some Hispanic blood, some Jewish blood, some Asian blood, some Indian blood, some Arabic blood, some Persian blood, etc., flowing in their veins. So, how can whites have "pride" about being pure white when they are a "mix"?
1 littleking12 2017-08-16
I don't know where you are from but the area I live in has an almost entirely white Scandinavian population. I don't believe that more than a tiny percentage of us have anything but pure white heritage. There are some other European descendants that live in the area I don't know about their heritage as we don't normally associate with them. There are also a few hundred Amish that live close to here and they are definitely not mixed race.
1 outtanutmeds 2017-08-16
Okay, so why don't the Scandinavians in your area have "Scandinavian Pride Week"? White people are so diverse it makes it impossible for there to be a unified "white group". There is no "white culture", but, as many here have already pointed out, there is German American culture, Scottish American culture, Irish American culture, etc. "White culture" is meaningless.
1 c0ntr0ll 2017-08-16
So if they have no culture and no unity, how they can systematically oppress you?
If they are not uniform in culture, are their cultures not all individual minorities? Does Italian culture prevail in America? How about Scottish? No, their cultures are minorities.
1 littleking12 2017-08-16
We don't have pride shows because we don't care what any one else thinks of us. If these bullshit pride shows stopped every one would be left alone to do their thing and I wouldn't know anything about them. Both parties would benefit. I probably wouldn't think the gays and blacks were morons if I wasn't exposed to their entitlement ideology every time I looked at the news. From what I see of these people they want me to have to care about them and what happened to their ancestors over 100 years ago. And the gays seem to think that they should be able to shove their lifestyle down my throat and be accepted into any community and be given equal treatment by people who don't like them or what they stand for. If you want to be accepted as an equal keep your opinions to your self and be productive or go somewhere that your people already have ruined.
1 ansultares 2017-08-16

Norwegians like land that looks like home. If it means farming rocks all the better.
1 lowkeygod 2017-08-16
What, just because I'm black means I can't have white pride? Racist. /s
1 BrawndoSalesRep 2017-08-16
There's no pure anything, especially if your family has been in the US more than a couple generations. It's not about purity. It's just one of those "life's not fair" things. We can't be open about pride in our community, because others have ruined that for us.
1 outtanutmeds 2017-08-16
If you think about it, the only reason that minorities have "pride" as a collective is because whites are the ones that categorized them as being different and seperate. Even the Constitution separates white males from Native Americans, women and black slaves.
1 c0ntr0ll 2017-08-16
"There are no pure "white" people in the United States like there are in Sweden."
This is a false statement and a generalization. Sounds racist.
1 outtanutmeds 2017-08-16
Sounds racist? Tell it to this crazy bitch:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2tFsgo7S8n4
1 OP_OP 2017-08-16
Because there is no white culture or pride per say. There is German, Irish, British, Romanian pride, or pride from all of these cultures. Black people have this as well, with Ethiopian, Ghanan, and sudanese pride. The difference is white prIde and black pride. When someone asks a white person their heritage, most people will start naming cultures that their ancestors were a part of. Now ask a black person their heritage when they had nothing but generations of people living in slavery. Through all that time, they lost their culture and heritage because it was taken. Black pride and culture grew from not having a culture or heritage and from identifying with other black people not because they were all from Africa but because of the color of their skin. White people didn't go through this, thus "White Pride and culture" is disrespectful to all those who were in slavery.
At least this is how I see it.
1 c0ntr0ll 2017-08-16
I appreciate the perspective.
I agree "white people" and "black people" are both generalizations that are far too broad. People should be proud of individualism, local culture, their hometown, etc.
Many people struggle with cultural identity. The only part I disagree with is that it's only black people. Human beings of all ethnicity have been displaced and continue to be displaced to this day. How will the people being affected now feel in 50-100 years generationally? Has anything even changed or are we just going around in a circle?
Many Caucasian cultures have been enslaved, some for upwards of 500 years by arab people. European countries should allow middle eastern refugees to freely cross their border though, right?
1 OP_OP 2017-08-16
I agree 150% with your point on the only black people part. I was more just trying to address the question. But you are a 150% right.
1 OP_OP 2017-08-16
The reason I would say Black Pride is a little different because of the fact that yes, while Black people weren't the only ones enslaved throughout history, but its one of the times that their entire history culture and heritage was wiped from these peoples lineage. Yes, people of all ethnicity's are being displaced to this day, but they still follow their own culture and fight for it. Over generations that fight to remember celebrate heritage was lost and a new culture of black people was born.
Also, Slavery in the United States was like 99% black people from different countries. A lot of slavery that happened elsewhere, Greece, Italy, and many other people had slaves from different countries but treated slaves as slaves no matter what the color of your skin was. In the United States all the slaves were black, which creates a clear division line that if your black your a slave and if your Not Black your better than a slave.
Slavery in the United States created black culture not just slavery in general
1 groman32 2017-08-16
Caucasian enslavement in the past has exactly zero impact on the present.
1 OP_OP 2017-08-16
I believe OP might have been referring to the fact I only mentioned white and black people in my argument and left out a majority of people. I don't believe OP was trying to be a distraction, just providing a counter argument. Its the same as using a metaphor to strengthen a statement, you use an example from history to provide support.
I think the whole point of OP's comment was, and please correct me if I am wrong and I am paraphrasing, "Black people weren't the only ones enslaved. Based of just that, why black pride still ok? (Then drew a comparison to arabs). Will people who are in slavery today be effected the same 50-100 years from now?"
Also writing this I realized I didn't answer one of your questions OP.
I don't believe something like this will happen again due to globalization. Slavery happened in a time where getting from one place to another was very difficult and so was communication. Which led to culture and heritage loss. It's very hard to do that with the internet which can connect people of the same culture from all parts of the globe.
1 Evil_Skip_Bayless 2017-08-16
The black people in America were stripped of their individual heritage throughout the age of slavery. The term African American in broad bc no one really knows what country they came from in that community. Of course families celebrate their country of origin in that community but as a whole its different in this country.
1 Loffler 2017-08-16
Because white identity isn't really a thing. There are Irish, Swedish, Italian, French, Portuguese, Russian, etc. identities, but no overall "white" culture.
1 c0ntr0ll 2017-08-16
So what you're saying is, black people identify themselves in a way that generalizes them and white people don't?
Or is this too, a bi-product of white suppression?
1 Loffler 2017-08-16
Yes, it actually is a by-product of white oppression. Black people in America are mostly descended from people who were taken from their home countries and sold as property. Black Americans didn't create black identity
1 c0ntr0ll 2017-08-16
In a world where people get to identify as whatever they want, you would think this is not an issue.
1 IthAConthpirathee 2017-08-16
Corrected your revisionist history.
1 Loffler 2017-08-16
I didn't try to revise anything, I just didn't think that was a relevant point in this discussion. Did I ever say anything that contradicts your "correction?"
1 IthAConthpirathee 2017-08-16
Yes, you ignored what really happened to pin the blame on white people.
1 Loffler 2017-08-16
Well, white people took black people from the continent of Africa and wiped out their cultural identity. In the context of this discussion, those are the relevant facts.
1 IthAConthpirathee 2017-08-16
So it isn't relevant that those people had been overthrown and enslaved by black people who then sold them to Europeans? It is relevant that the culture they lost was one of literally enslaving your neighbors to exchange for European gold? It isn't relevant that that culture that they lost is still going today, with slavery still a huge part of it? It isn't relevant that the slaves that were sold to Europeans were the lucky few that were eventually released, that got to breed and therefore get to exist today only because they were brought to European countries?
What you are saying is that the only relevant historical crimes are those committed by white people and all other crimes are automatically forgiven and written off as irrelevant? You are a foaming at the mouth racist if you believe that.
1 Loffler 2017-08-16
You're putting a lot of words in my mouth. You're asking me to defend a strawman argument, so I'll go ahead and just bow out of this discussion
I do think it's interesting that you feel the need to shift blame for the international slave trade. There's no need to feel guilty about the actions of your ancestors, you don't have to defend them
1 IthAConthpirathee 2017-08-16
Who is more complicit in a crime. The person who attacks, overthrows and enslaves a man or the person who buys them then frees them?
1 ChelseaClintonsTeeth 2017-08-16
No, they were sold to us by their own tribes, just as they sold them to the Islamic slave trade which was over 6x the size of the atlantic slave trade.
1 throwawawyy2 2017-08-16
" I mean I wasn't the dude selling a slave. I was just the dude that bought and owned and whipped a slave"
You're comparing 2 pieces of shit. Sounds like you just want a reason to blame the blacks
1 IthAConthpirathee 2017-08-16
No I want people who discuss "blame" to do so in an informed matter as opposed to "OMG Wypippo raycis!"
1 Chuck_Rogers 2017-08-16
Are you talking about black people globally or just in the US?
You're kind of generalising here
1 IthAConthpirathee 2017-08-16
You were talking about white people globally. There is a distinct white culture in the US.
1 Chuck_Rogers 2017-08-16
I don't know if there is, really. It would be hard for me to say anyway.
1 Sludgy_Veins 2017-08-16
the funny thing is all these people saying you can't be proud to be white are only proving your point. You asked why it's so offensive to be proud to be white and they instantly call you an asshole and say you can't be proud lol
1 c0ntr0ll 2017-08-16

1 TrumpRusConspiracy 2017-08-16
Those people are wrong and evil as well. And type of racism or bigotry from any race is wrong and evil.
1 c0ntr0ll 2017-08-16
Those people are celebrities who propagate their opinion to tens of thousands of people at a time on Twitter.
Many of them get a pass on the "black people can't be racist" logic. All it takes to get there is changing the definition of the word racism to "systematic oppression via white people" and you can pretty much be as prejudice as you like and not get banned from social media. If you do, cry bigotry.
1 TrumpRusConspiracy 2017-08-16
Ok?
But, you asked why the phrase "white pride" has such a negative stigma.
How do you feel about white supremacists using that to further their agenda?
1 c0ntr0ll 2017-08-16
The same way I feel about black supremacists like Louis Farrakhan who use BLM to push their agenda.
1 TrumpRusConspiracy 2017-08-16
I didn't ask your opinion on those groups.
How do you feel about white supremacy ideology?
1 c0ntr0ll 2017-08-16
I used those groups to outline my opinion, since their tactics are the same.
I have love for all races, cultures, and people. They all have murderers, liars, thieves, and bigots.
Asking me how I feel about one specific bigoted group to another is irrelevant. They are all garbage and they exist in all communities, not just white ones.
1 TrumpRusConspiracy 2017-08-16
Glad we got that out of the way. Thank you for the response.
Does it make you angry when white supremacists shout out "White pride"?

No, you are assuming what I was going to say. I've been very civil to you so far correct?
Now, answer the question please.
1 c0ntr0ll 2017-08-16
It doesn't anger me. I do not wish to commit violence to people with differing opinions than me. If I was angry or wanted to commit violence every time someone unlike me thought something different than I did, we would have a real issue.
It doesn't really even anger me when people make prejudice slurs against white people. They are the ones who are uneducated and angry. They can live with the consequences of their self-limitation.
1 TrumpRusConspiracy 2017-08-16
Why doesn't it anger you?
White supremacists are degrading the phrase "White pride" that you cherish so much.

Anger is more or less a useless emotion.
1 TrumpRusConspiracy 2017-08-16

1 jaydwalk 2017-08-16
That doesn't go well right now in the US.
1 western_red 2017-08-16
No one has a problem with any of those festivals and they are all about white cultures. It is true that "white pride" has negative connotations, but that's because neo-Nazi groups use that as a slogan a lot. I'm white, but when I hear white pride I immediately think of this shit: https://www.google.com/search?q=white+pride&rlz=1C5CHFA_enUS719US723&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjVzO-tnNzVAhWi7IMKHXQzDfkQ_AUICigB&biw=770&bih=571
Only fringe white people are to blame for the association of white pride with racism.
1 c0ntr0ll 2017-08-16
"Only fringe white people are to blame"
I agree.
1 elcad 2017-08-16
I do and then some of the other ones around town. Caribbean festival is always fun. I haven't tried the Russian or Ukrainian ones yet. The Lithuanian one has been my favorite for a while. It's just before Mother's Day, and a good source of gifts.
1 honkimon 2017-08-16
I could only wish my town had such diversity in different festivals to chose from. Sounds look a literal smorgasbord
1 F0XF1R3 2017-08-16
I would go just for the food.
1 buttwarmer333 2017-08-16
Walk down the street and tell people you love being white...see what happens. Yo ass gets stomped and you're kkk now white boy.
1 TrumpRusConspiracy 2017-08-16
What happens if you tell people you love being Irish or German?
1 c0ntr0ll 2017-08-16
Germany? They probably respond. "What are you some kind of nazi?" chuckle chuckle*
1 honkimon 2017-08-16
Is anyone else sick of this dancing around the issue apologetic bullshit infesting this sub.
Here it is. If you go attend a rally to support your cause and people are chanting faggot, jew, or any other nazi bullshit you are a piece of shit period. And the more I see people standing up for that sort of rhetoric in this sub the more I know the place needs to set forward some better guidelines. It's that simple. If you can't denounce this sort of behavior and your only motive is to distract from or make it seem like no big deal YOU are the problem.
1 jaydwalk 2017-08-16
You're correct, you can say whatever you want, but if it's certain things your an asshole. Some people also don't care what others think, so what then?
This whole new cycle is a distraction, it always is...get the public talking and bickering about specific topics to distract from what the other hand is doing...
1 honkimon 2017-08-16
I give up. So it's okay to be a homophobe, a xenophobe, and a racist because you don't care what others think? Jesus fucking christ
1 jaydwalk 2017-08-16
Not what I meant.
1 woahdidnotseethat 2017-08-16
I could see why the responder would think that though. Might want to reword it, fam.
1 jaydwalk 2017-08-16
Edited, thanks?
1 wwwwho 2017-08-16
Apparently it's okay to insult Christians.
1 honkimon 2017-08-16
Good, fuck all religions. Root of most of the planet's problems
1 wwwwho 2017-08-16
Well, religion and people labeling themselves with other meaningless identities (I probably didn't understand the thread and thought it was funny that you ended with "Jesus fucking christ").
1 TheDirtFarmer 2017-08-16
It's not ok to you but it is fine to them. If you want to change their opinion battle them with ideas not violence. Some people are just dog shit humans with out taking account of their race, gender, sexual orientation and religion.
1 HempCO719 2017-08-16
What if you are only there to film seperate angles, to catch any false flagging
1 honkimon 2017-08-16
I'd suggest body armor and covering your face.
1 HempCO719 2017-08-16
Wearing body armor means you intend to get shot. Nobody makes me bleed my own blood.
1 buttwarmer333 2017-08-16
yes, not everyone at the "united the right" rally was a nazi, such as trump said. Some people were just there observing, and some just didn't want the statue taken down. That doesnt mean you are automatically kkk cause you LOOKED in the direction of a nazi.
1 HempCO719 2017-08-16
Or you hate ethnic people solely because you are white.
1 c0ntr0ll 2017-08-16
But burning down businesses, looting, punching Richard Spencer, disrupting Bernie Sanders rallies, openly supporting gang members, and pushing Sharia Law is fine for Democrats and BLM right?
Denounce all of those people right now or you too are a shitbag!
Do you see how stupid ultimatums are?
1 Loffler 2017-08-16
Well there goes any credibility. It's obvious that you didn't come here to have an honest debate
1 c0ntr0ll 2017-08-16
I mirrored what the other person did to me. Yet, you same I am the one who is not up for lively debate.
But yeah, Linda S. does support Sharia Law and is propped up by Democrats and feminist groups. Deny it? You would be factually incorrect. Care to wager $10,000? I will bet you that amount of money.
It is a FACT.
1 Kolyin 2017-08-16
You didn't say Linda S. You said Democrats and BLM.
Don't blame other people for your bullshitting.
1 c0ntr0ll 2017-08-16
Democats push Linda. Linda pushes Sharia.
But burning down businesses, looting, punching Richard Spencer, disrupting Bernie Sanders rallies etc. THAT was BLM.
I should have made my statements more clear. I do not "blame" BLM for Sharia Law-pushing Linda Sarsour.
1 woahdidnotseethat 2017-08-16
Woah. This guy sympathizes
1 c0ntr0ll 2017-08-16
with logic
1 woahdidnotseethat 2017-08-16
Eh, I'm not sure you're on the right path here, man. Reassess
1 c0ntr0ll 2017-08-16
Why condone violence from either side?
1 woahdidnotseethat 2017-08-16
I didn't say anything about violence. Judging from your replies on this thread, you seem confused or racist or both.
1 lol-community 2017-08-16
Not many people do.
1 tkreidolon 2017-08-16
They used to.
1 GoldenTruth 2017-08-16
Oh how I miss those days. It feels like 30-40 percent of this community still reps how things were here 3+ years ago...but reallt more like 5 years ago. The past 2 have been really saddening. Where did all of this close mindedness come from?
1 tkreidolon 2017-08-16
People online, in the past, were more open-minded, nerdy outcasts.
Now that it's mainstream, there is a new generation of gullible kids consuming bigotry online, unable to decipher real from fake, right from wrong, and imagining that there are many like-minded folk which makes them even more stubborn.
Kids also want to be cool and fit in so they go along with jokes. The joking eventually becomes an inescapable mindset.
The latest election certainly legitimized bigotry, as people gained the confidence to be more open about it. When they express their, seemingly, logical opinion about race, for example, due to the purposeful exclusion of any context, it confuses kids into thinking "Hey, you're right! Why is ______ that way?" and you get these sorts of threads popping up. They are rightly confused because a bigot didn't include all the facts when they gave OP their dumbass opinion.
That's my guess...
1 honkimon 2017-08-16
I'd say you're mostly correct but the whole nerdy outcast online persona was like 10 years ago. With Digg, facebook, and other "social" media the mainstream has certainly been around. When did /r/conspiracy REALLY turn into a shit hole? You can plot that on a chart around the alt-right and /r/the_donald became a thing.
1 tkreidolon 2017-08-16
Yeah, it's been a long road to this. You could say the latest election was the boiling point that brought together those people into a mainstream group, which then exponentially increases membership due to exposure. The "win" legitimizes their crazy talk and encourages an "Us vs Them" mentality. It's emotional. They're young, dumb, and having fun. They aren't thinking about who it might hurt. Cool people don't do that.
I just miss when going online used to be an escape from illogical discourse. You could say any crazy thing you wanted but only as a thought experiment and to challenge minds through critical thinking.
1 honkimon 2017-08-16
Agree 100%
1 crestwick 2017-08-16
I don't know what is happening in your part of the world but in Australia at least one public (i.e. taxpayer funded) swimming pool has periods where only Muslim women can attend. That is Sharia law in practice. If the Muslim community is so concerned they should fund and build there own swimming pool, not deny access to the rest of the people.
1 _____42_____ 2017-08-16
That's not Sharia Law
1 SurelyThisIsUnique 2017-08-16
Nope.
1 honkimon 2017-08-16
I guess people lie all over the world to prove a point, don't they?
1 ansultares 2017-08-16
You could have ignored the hyperbole and discussed his other points, but you didn't.
1 Loffler 2017-08-16
I think "hyperbole" is being very generous here. It's blatant disinfo fearmongering. I try not to have discussions with people who don't argue in good faith, it's just a waste of everyone's time.
1 groman32 2017-08-16
Lol you're a joke
1 c0ntr0ll 2017-08-16
Instead of making pointless comments about nothing, try arguing what I said.
YOU'RE A JOKE!
Throws tantrum like a brain dead child*
1 The_Deep_State 2017-08-16
You can't present garbage.. and be upset when people respond with garbage..
1 c0ntr0ll 2017-08-16
If the other person is so educated, they can tell me how Linda Sarsour does no promote and support Sharia Law via platforms provided to her by the DNC.
Not a pointless, worthless comment, that does nothing to change the narrative or truth.
1 The_Deep_State 2017-08-16
Dude you can't just make shit up then expect people to address it as if it were real..
1 c0ntr0ll 2017-08-16

1 The_Deep_State 2017-08-16
Oh wow, you're brilliant, because 1 liberal is a religious moron who follows a dumb religion.. ALL of them are?
So are all conservatives like Dylan Roof? or is it safe to say he's bat shit crazy and doesn't represent any conservatives?
You're fucking grasping at straws here.
1 c0ntr0ll 2017-08-16
The reason I brought her up, is because someone else gave me an ultimatum, and I told them how stupid it was to label one person for an entire group. Like how all white people are not nazis for example.
Please, follow along to the dialogue, with comprehension. I agree, what was said to me was stupid. Also, I was accused of making things up I did not make up. I am dealing in facts. Not emotion.
1 The_Deep_State 2017-08-16
She's entitled to her opinion and religion just like every other American.
Do I PERSONALLY think Sharia Laws is fucking disgusting? YES but she's got the same freedoms as all the Christians in this country that ram their garbage religion down our throat.
Lots of Republicans side with Pat Robertson who scams poor needy people with lies to get rich..
Let's not act like this is a issue with democrats.
1 c0ntr0ll 2017-08-16
She's entitled to as much of an opinion as the nazis. Shall we punch her in the face in the middle of the street?
Of course not.
1 The_Deep_State 2017-08-16
Wow, that's fucking crazy dude... The fact that you think they're even related is disqualifying.
You no longer have any kind of valid argument, you're just spewing garbage as I said before.
1 c0ntr0ll 2017-08-16
Ah yes, because nobody is oppressed or persecuted in fundamentalist Islamic countries. I hear it's much worse in Europe.
1 iantm 2017-08-16
Dude, you're not making any sense at all.
1 _____42_____ 2017-08-16
I'd love to see your source for that.

Sounds like we've got ourselves a racist.
1 IthAConthpirathee 2017-08-16
So all I have to do to make you leave any demonstration for a cause you believe in is go there and chant stupid shit? Seems like an excellent way to get weak willed political skacktivists to drop out of a demonstration.
1 buttwarmer333 2017-08-16
SOOO if you have a party, and I show up and yell "kill white people"...using your logic, the party is now, automatically, a anti-white party? Hijacking is that easy? Lol, standing your ground isnt important?
1 iantm 2017-08-16
Care to rewrite this one in a way that a human being could understand what your point is?
1 emuiral 2017-08-16
What if you see a different meaning represented by the rally and still believe in that, just because someone is acting an idiot beside you doesn't mean you should stop believing in it.
If the person caught committing a horrible crime is a muslim and the crime is labelled terrorism then should every other muslim step away from their religion to denounce their actions. Define each person by their actions not the actions of those around them.
I agree that we all have have a to duty to maintain an atmosphere of cooperation and unity and should argue against those who divide us with conflict and hate. Your words call for people to step away from any beliefs associated with a philosophy because of what others do.
I still agree with your final statement but judge each by their own actions.
1 DeletesAccounts0ften 2017-08-16
Creating hypothetical situations to designate and absolute is a pretty pointless endeavor and it only serves to show how bias and close minded you are. There are so many angles to every situation.
Let's use your method, I'll create a hypothetical. What if my grandma is dying of a fatal disease and her last wish is to go to a Supremacist rally? Seems like I'm a shitbag either way in that hypothetical situation if we're to believe your absolute designation.
I may not agree with the politics of the people (neo-nazis) but that doesn't mean I can't share a space with them digitally or in the real world as long as their not harming anyone physically. If for no other reason than out of sheer curiosity for to how they think.
1 Drooperdoo 2017-08-16
Yeah, but then you're giving George Soros veto power over you.
All he has to do is pay a few crisis actors to put on neo-Nazi garb and shout racial epithets and, according to you, that should be enough to cancel any event.
So you're allowing people who hate you to have veto-power over you.
1 SUBWAY_SLAMDANCE 2017-08-16
Nazis and KKK are shitbags, but what about ANTIFA, BLM and their open, blatant bigotry directed towards white people, especially straight white men? You know, stuff like the SMASH THE WHITE MAN MARCH I attended a lot of protests in the 90's and 2000's. I marched against the KKK. I marched against police shootings black people and police brutality long before BLM existed. I marched against discrimination against women, blacks, LGBTQ+. I vehemently RAILED against any and all forms of racism and sexism, confronting people on the street if I heard or saw them acting in a racist/sexist manner toward ANYONE.
I am also railing against the far left's program of systemic racial attacks on people of European heritage and their culture. Shit like the SMASH THE WHITE MAN rally is no less racist than a fucking KKK rally.
I attempted to attend a BLM march in my city last year. I was violently confronted by over a dozen people, both individuals and groups telling me I wasn't welcome, I was a devil, "go home faggot cracker." I was told that my "time is coming," and soon all of us "whites" are going to be taken out, "dragged out into the street and shot," etc, and much more. I was fucking appalled, to say the least. I tried having a civil discussion with a number of black people, but only one old man was interested, and his tone was decidedly anti white, going on about "you people" this and that (implying whites). The general mood was tense and felt very close to violence, much the same as KKK rallies I had protested. I was actually physically attacked, an older black man came out of nowhere and smashed an ice cream cone against my head with enough force to knock me down. I went and told a nearby cop, who was black, and he laughed and said I looked like I was alright. The guy who attacked me was walking away and I pointed him out to the cop, but he refused to do anything about it and continued flirting with a young girl in a miniskirt.
Needless to say I'll NEVER attend another BLM rally. They are a hate group, as are ANTIFA.
What people need to realize is that the establishment are using these groups on either side, BLM, ANTIFA on the left, and the ALT-RIGHT groups on the right, to manipulate people into hating one another. These groups are all infiltrated and run by individuals with an agenda to drive the people of this country towards a civil war.
Trying to rail against one side is futile, if the other side is ignored. You can't attack NAZIs and KKK while allowing ANTIFA and BLM to continue to preach hate everywhere they go. BLM and ANTIFA are actually pushing many young white men into these ALT-RIGHT groups by their never-ending mantra of "DESTROY THE PATRIARCHY, DESTROY ALL STRAIGHT WHITE MALES." These groups are what actually got Trump elected. Why would any self-respecting straight white man have anything to do with the left at this point? Where do they go? Well, the far left is pushing them further and further right, while these ALT-RIGHT groups and their agents provocateur indoctrinate these kids into NAZI ideology. Both sides are now feeding the other, they are all fanning the flames of hate.
1 _____42_____ 2017-08-16
You mean the one that happened in England a couple years ago, that had nothing to do with BLM?
1 NWVoS 2017-08-16
In that picture I see at least 4 to 5 white men, and none of them are being smashed. In fact, they are holding the sign up, so I'm confused here.
1 ragegenx 2017-08-16
He's blunt but he has a point.
1 c0ntr0ll 2017-08-16
All he did was express intolerance and tell people to essentially "get out of his country" just like a white person labeled a bigot.
1 zippityd0dah 2017-08-16
While true, I think it misses OP's point. Those are nationalities, not skin colors.
1 c0ntr0ll 2017-08-16
Yes. When do all of these people get together?
1 ShillyMadison 2017-08-16
To play somewhat of a Devil's advocate, there's a good reason that black Americans celebrate simply "black" pride. A large percentage of them have no idea what there country of origin is. The same cant really be said for white americans, which may be why there is no white pride.
1 c0ntr0ll 2017-08-16
As stated multiple times in this thread there is vast and public technology for retracing your ancestry that can be access on the internet for almost no relative cost.
1 western_red 2017-08-16
Hey you forgot Italian and Norwegian (Syttende Mai)
1 elcad 2017-08-16
Yes I did forget the Italian Festival. Which is happening this Saturday and Sunday in Little Italy. Sorry guys, I thought I put this first, since it's been on my mind all week.
No Nordic festivals here. Not many of those guys around here.
1 woahdidnotseethat 2017-08-16
WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY "THOSE" GUYS, MAN
1 elcad 2017-08-16
Nordic people. Like Swedes, Finns, Samis and Nords. I don't think they liked the climate here and settled places that are cooler.
1 woahdidnotseethat 2017-08-16
OH YEAH? WHERE IS "COOLER" THAN AMERICA MAN!?!?!
I know what you mean, just messing around. I really enjoyed your first comment. Props.
1 doucheeebag 2017-08-16
In what city??
1 elcad 2017-08-16
Baltimore.
1 c0ntr0ll 2017-08-16
You mean Russian Hacker Festival
1 buttwarmer333 2017-08-16
LOL wow. That is NOT the same thing at all, but nice try. You are saying that...oh you can have little festivals and drink your beer. That is NOT the same as being able to publicly say I am proud to be white.
1 DBtheEmcee 2017-08-16
I have a Irish pride tattoo. Never have I had someone tell me it was racist. White is not a heritage or culture. But you go ahead and be proud purely because your skin tone.
1 tkreidolon 2017-08-16
He's got nothing else to be proud of.
1 Sludgy_Veins 2017-08-16
then tell that to the black pride brothers too?
1 elcad 2017-08-16
Don't blame me that they have good natured pride in where they came from. Most white and Asian people are able to know where they came from, and to celebrate it, that other's were robbed of. For example we have both an Afro-American festival and a Caribbean festival.
1 iantm 2017-08-16
What exactly would you be trying to convey by publicly saying you are proud to be white.
I mean nobody's stopping you, you legally protected to do so. I just fail to see the point of it.
1 Sludgy_Veins 2017-08-16
the same thing black people convey when they say they're proud to be black. You're only proving OP's point, how you don't realize that is actually hilarious
1 iantm 2017-08-16
You don't see the difference between black pride and white pride? One people had nothing, were enslaved, and created a place in America for themselves.
1 irondumbell 2017-08-16
I think protestors mean 'white american', no hyphenated ethnicity
1 western_red 2017-08-16
But what does that mean? Just give me a hypothetical festival that would represent white Americans.
1 irondumbell 2017-08-16
Maybe they want that identity
1 western_red 2017-08-16
You didn't answer the question. Like what is a white American celebration? I mean, we have 4th of July and Thanksgiving. Just give me a hypothetical, because I seriously don't get what that would entail.
1 irondumbell 2017-08-16
If someone could invent a celebration like kwanza i dont see why they couldnt
1 western_red 2017-08-16
But I mean, that's a very small subset of white Americans. It has nothing to do with me.
1 Sludgy_Veins 2017-08-16
when did this become about festivals? OP is asking why we're not allowed to be proud of being white. Ask any european and they'll tell you it's silly white people get so much hate in america
1 western_red 2017-08-16
Sorry, I'm white and extremely proud of my heritage. No one says white people can't be proud. I don't get why anyone thinks this. Who are you getting hate from? What, did you see some bullshit on Twitter you don't like? Where is this coming from?
1 TempestCatalyst 2017-08-16
You can be perfectly proud of your race.
You just can't ask for the ethnic cleansing of America, or deem other races as inferior. I've never seen anyone get hatred for only being proud of their heritage.
1 c0ntr0ll 2017-08-16
All of those people are minorities unless you lump them all into one demographic, "white people."
At which point, I'm asking, should they not be proud of that demographic? If you do not wish to lump them together, then we must look at them like ethnic minorities with small populations. That would cause some obvious changes in paradigm.
1 elcad 2017-08-16
Just because if you are of Irish decent, doesn't mean that you can not also be of German, Korean, etc. Why can't people decide for themselves what to be proud of in themselves? Why should various white people feel connected to each other?
1 c0ntr0ll 2017-08-16
why should the European Union exist?
1 elcad 2017-08-16
Because they are neighbors with a common market. Same reason Turkey was on the shortlist for membership. If they had lied about their economy like Greece they would be in already.
1 Trmpsuxclntndck 2017-08-16
Sorry but you are wrong about Greece.
They didnt lie, goldman sachs and capitalist fucks funneled the money out of Greece.
You cant believe the english media when it comes to Hellas. More woke people here in this country than anywhere in the world.
Hell, last night i saw a documentary on a main channel about the microchip implants.
1 the-matt_hatter 2017-08-16
where the fuck did that come from???
1 c0ntr0ll 2017-08-16
The idea that white cultures can't be proud together like other races is the same nonsense being repeated in different words.
1 zenicaone 2017-08-16
to be fair you are mixing the two.
nationality pride and racial pride.
although he added gay pride - so maybe he is confused too.
I think people in general are very confused. MS media and social media is throwing too many social issues and social terms out there.
1 elcad 2017-08-16
It wasn't that long ago the Irish were called a different race. Hitler sure had a lot more racial lines than we are talking about today.
White people are proud of their brand of whiteness. Why would white people be proud of their lack of melanin? They spend a lot of time and money to get tan. Plus I'm sure they have lots more important things to be proud about, like...everything. God, country, location, family, sports, media taste, skill, and hard work, to name a few.
1 zenicaone 2017-08-16
sure that is why I said that people are very confused with various term nowadays and often make mistakes.
in general why not? If other races are proud of color of their skin - why not white people too.
if other people are proud of having (more) melanin ... I mean its equally weird to celebrate having melanin as it is not having it. who knows.
meh its mainly during summer because its "hip" or not to get burnt at the beach. and very small percentage does it all year long because its Fashionable or Cool.
Equally stupid as when some black or brown people use "Skin whitening" creams and similar stuff.
so.... white pride makes sense then.
1 elcad 2017-08-16
Not at all. You should be ashamed. And people of the same race should be ashamed to be the same color as you. Ashamed for mocking people, who have had bonded into a group because of a shared experience. Stripped of their names, language and culture they decided to go by "Black" instead of the previously picked names that seemed to always start with a "N". I would have gone with "Fremen", but nobody asked. Why do you want to give them a hard time about by trying to justify the idea you have that there is a need for "white pride"?
Be proud of what you've done, not what you look like. Anything else should just be for fun, because it ain't worth nothing.
1 Think_Once 2017-08-16
Because the term "white pride" was coined by white supremacists and "black pride" is replacement term for African Americans which brings them together.
The reason why "black pride" isn't considered to be racists is the context. African American can't trace back their heritage. They don't know where they come from (besides the continent). They don't know if their ancestors lived in Nigeria, the Congo or Namibia before they were enslaved and ship to the US. Their identity, culture and heritage was stripped and beaten out of them. They were nothing more than a good for sale. The only thing that they have in common is their color of skin. That was the only thing what was defining them. So a new identity was born. A black identity, a black culture and black pride as replacement for their lost heritage.
That is different for Caucasian American. They didn't lose their heritage. I can trace my family back to German and Irish settlers and my family is still part of German and Irish culture. And that's what you can celebrate. You can be pride of your German/British/Italian/Irish/Dutch/... culture and heritage. He can celebrate Tesla for being a Serbian and thus part of Serbian culture, but his inventions weren't due to the fact that he was white. Same goes for Newton. Celebrate that he was British. Lumping them together to celebrate them under "white pride" would be an injustice to Serbian or British culture, since they are both vastly different (as for other European cultures). White American didn't have to find a replacement for their culture, they never lost it.
With using the term "white pride" you're reducing the inventions and accomplishments of Europeans to the color of their skin. You take something away from them, their British/Serbian/Austrian/German/French/Spanish/Italian... part. With using the term "black pride" you give something back. You give African American an identity.
Same can be said about gays. Coming out as gay was a big nono. Your family disavowed you and you were thrown out. People were murdered for being gay. So gay people search for a replacement of a culture which rejected them.
It exists, but if you lived in cities like New York and London, you would see that these tribal border within cities are diminishing day by day.

Why should African American now replace their identity they build with something new?
Also, would you pay for the millions of DNA tests out of you pocket to find out the ancestors of every African American?
1 Kolyin 2017-08-16
Plus, the generations of black Americans who were deprived of any other history built an identity as black Americans that's distinct from any white experience.
1 ansultares 2017-08-16
Government funded DNA tests for all African Americans as a means of reconnecting them with their African heritage is possibly the only form of reparations I can get behind.

I agree with the OP, but this is a good comment about context. Racial issues are certainly the most touchy in political discourse right now, and for the foreseeable future. Personally, I think many misconceptions about the sameness between races are responsible for what we're seeing. Radical egalitarianism was a mistake. The US needs to come to terms with some uncomfortable truths regarding our supposed departure from tribalism. Wishful thinking and ideological kool-aid is not the solution to every animals deterministic aspects. Humans are animals competing for resources. It just so happens that European nations have ignored this at great peril currently. We are going to see a reversal and I hope western leaders have a better solution than history.

Additionally, it's a way for us LGBT people to say that we're proud of who we are. We still live in a society where LGBT teens are routinely homeless due to being thrown out of their parents' homes and suicide rates of LGBT people are several times higher . I'm sure someone could pull up a few Tumblr posts hating on white people, but there isn't the same sort of widespread hatred and shame. No one was ever ostracized by their own parents for being white.
1 woahdidnotseethat 2017-08-16
Not yet, anyway.
Don't let the bigots ever get you down, fam. We out here.
1 HahThatsSilly 2017-08-16
Absolutely not. I couldn't imagine if I had to grow up homosexual. I'm not sure I would have survived, tbh (my step father is super homophobic).
But whites are ostracized in other ways. There's many things we can't say, or do, that other races can. We can't have all white schools, or all white clubs. Affirmative action has made us, in some ways, ostracized from jobs just because of our skin color. White boys are doing increasingly worse in school. They also experience much higher suicide rates. I believe, though I could be incorrect here, white men also hold many of the most dangerous jobs and thus are responsible for most workplace deaths.
The problem with arguments like these is, while they are typically factually correct, they play on the belief that oppression and unfairness is a zero-sum game. If one group has a rough go of it, that must mean the other group doesn't. That belief, while prevalent, is just not based in reality.
You see it all the time with the hardest of core BLM supporters -- white tears, white fragility, etc. You also see it all the time with feminism (same phrases, just replace white with male). There's this belief that, because they feel oppressed, you cannot feel that way. That there's only so much to go around, and since someone other themselves have to be responsible for them it must be someone else.. and that someone else can't even speak of their own problems.
The reality is, the majority of white people are middle class and lower. Asians out earn us by a fair bit. They are also much better educated. They also come from more complete, and more stable, homes. Yet nobody accuses them of being the oppressors/the ones with privilege. In fact, I believe there's a square on the oppression pyramid for Asians. << That was a bit of a rant, apologies, lol.
I've now lost track of my thought, FML.
My overall point is, though, that most people in this world have a bad go of it. Some have it worse, or different, no doubt.. but very few people are leading cushy lives. Even most of the rich don't live cushy lives. Someone has to work all those hours to earn all that money, after all. It's only the top of the top 1% who truly live cushy lives.
All that said, you should absolutely be proud of who you are. Nobody should feel ashamed for being born a certain way.. that goes for Blacks, Gays, Whites, Asians, etc.
1 brain_on_drugs 2017-08-16
The issue I take with your post were your examples above about white people not being allowed to have white-only things. America used to have some of those things. Society collectively decided they do not want those things anymore.
For example, the existence of white-only schools and all-white clubs. There are people still alive today who grew up when white-only schools existed. It was an ugly period with horrible race relations and large scale civil unrest, much larger than anything happening today. If you don't believe it for yourself, go ask non-white grandparents and great-grandparents who were alive what it was like.
These things were not ancient concepts in faraway lands. They happened right here, in America, not long ago at all.
Segregation is something people died and gave their life to end. It's not something that society should regress toward.
1 HahThatsSilly 2017-08-16
Actually, many of my points were about how whites actually weren't the top of the food chain as people seem to believe we are. In nearly every social category, we are outdone by Asians.
The point was, white people have problems too even if society doesn't want to recognize that.
I don't either. I was merely pointing out one example where whites are hurt as well. If there's value to blacks to having a "blacks only" club then it's not a stretch to believe there's value to whites to having a "whites only" club.
Me, personally, I don't think there's value to either. But some do and society, as a whole, thinks there's value to one and not the other. It's an inequality that exists, that either doesn't get recognized or gets hand waved away.
Again, this is not anything I'd ever advocate for. That said, I do find it funny that black students are now demanding black only classes and shit. They are literally trying to bring Jim Crowe back.. I don't get it.
1 c0ntr0ll 2017-08-16
Some people think things can only be right if it was their idea.
1 brain_on_drugs 2017-08-16
I wasn't responding to those points. I was responding to you saying this
Which I specifically mentioned.
Again, that wasn't the point I was replying to.
This is a huge false equivalence though.
Besides that, what black-only schools and clubs were you even referring to?
If you're talking about historical black colleges and universities (HBCU's) then you need to go read up on why those schools were even created in the first place. If you do that, come back, and still think it's a problem they exist then honestly, you should reexamine your beliefs.
Most would point to the inequalities in the first place that led to the desire to have those things.
Are we just going to pretend that the moment slavery ended black peoples problems were all solved? That they didn't face continued discrimination in what schools they could attend, what neighborhoods they lived in, what careers were available?
1 HahThatsSilly 2017-08-16
I'll give you major example, at least in my opinion. How about black only courses in college? Would it be socially acceptable to have a college course only white people could attend?
Of course not. But are we also going to pretend that non-whites are the only ones who have a problem in America? Are we going to pretend that non-whites are the only ones discriminated against? Because that's what society is currently doing.
The sad thing is, it's that attitude that gave rise to Trump and gave rise to shit like Charlottesville. Nobody likes being dismissed or, worse, vilified because of their skin color. And, like it or not, it's currently socially acceptable to do that to white people.
1 pingveno 2017-08-16
Just to clarify the case from that article, it was about a single college success course at one college. The idea is that black students were dropping out at an unusually high rate, so maybe a somewhat customized version would help boost graduation rates for black students. Having a white only college success class just wouldn't make sense, since white students don't have a significantly lower graduation rate than the norm.
1 HahThatsSilly 2017-08-16
First, this was just one example.. there's more. Let's not forget Black students at Evergeen tried to force all white people to leave for a day. It was sort of a big deal, and society (as a whole) sided with the black students... at least the society we see online.
Second, I actually think the idea is a good one. I think it should be expanded. Boys, and especially white boys, are doing worse and worse in school. Their grades are falling, as are their graduation rates. Why can't they have their own class to help them out? Do you believe society would approve of it?
I mean, to me it's really simple: If it's okay to have a class where you say "Only people from group X can join" then it needs to be okay to have a class where you say "People from group X cannot join". If you don't, we don't live in an equal society.
Equality can't play favorites, regardless of past history. We either commit to equality, or we don't.
That's my opinion, anyways.
1 brain_on_drugs 2017-08-16
Probably not. And I would criticize anyone who supports a black-only classroom. Like I said, people gave their lives fighting for civil rights in America and a segregated classroom is a giant step backwards.
With that said, the school no longer offers that course nor any course that's only allowed for specific races to join. So your biggest example... isn't really an example at all IMHO.
OK but let's actually examine this closer. I asked for some examples of what you meant by whites being discriminated against and your 'major' example was a community college briefly offering black students the option to have a class with other black students - which the college stopped doing - and you're trying to compare that to decades of major civil rights violations.
I just can't in good faith see how you can even draw an equivalence between the two. They're not even remotely in the same ballpark.
1 HahThatsSilly 2017-08-16
My biggest example wasn't that specific class. More the idea that this is becoming common in colleges. Evergreen's "day without white people" was a thing that happened, that was forced on to white people. More and more universities are offering "safe spaces" for non-whites and/or non-men.
It's a big example to me because this is our education system. This is what's supposed to be grooming our future leaders.
I actually answered your "grip" above. This one example wasn't, specifically, the biggest one. It was more the idea that our education system was doing this.
Second, I guess I don't understand how people can't see that it's become hip to hate on white people.. that society is accepting of that. Just go to twitter and read the reactions to what happened in Charlottesville. A good amount of it was "This is why all white people need to be killed". Again, change white with any other race and our society would have EXPLODED.
Second, you can't have true equality while also saying different races (and genders, for that matter) get to live by different rules. That's called separate but equal, and it's not an idea I'd ever get behind.
1 _____42_____ 2017-08-16
I don't mean this with any disrespect, but did you go to college? Because that's simply not true.
I can't begin to tell you how many people, the large majority of which who are conservative and have never gone to college, have this twisted idea of what goes on there that's simply not based in reality.
1 HahThatsSilly 2017-08-16
I attended two years of community college. Dropped out. But I'm old enough to have gone before this became a thing.
I mean, people keep saying it's not happen but evergreen did happen. As did yale. As did mizzou. As did the (more than one) berkley riots. Hell, Jordan Peterson just had his event at a Canadian public University cancelled.
There's much more subtle stuff too. Multiple family members, going to different University, were offered extra credit to go out and protest Trump. White privilege classes are becoming mandatory. Speech codes, free speech zones, microaggressions, etc. They're all far more common than most realize. They just get little play because it's in our media's interest to downplay or ignore it.
Spend some time with FIRE. You'll soon realize things are heading in the wrong direction, and fast.
1 _____42_____ 2017-08-16
So your issue is with college kids protesting? That's been going on for decades you know. And none of that addresses how you think it's becoming "hip to hate on white people" at college campuses.
I'm calling bullshit on that one. I've got a few degrees, and I've worked at a couple Universities, and that would just not fly anywhere beside some podunk community college.
Nonsense. Source it.
More nonsense.
Are you trying to say microaggressions aren't a real thing, or that they shouldn't be confronted?
They're really not. It's just the right's newest baseless bogeyman, and honestly one of the most egregiously disgusting.
Those on the right know that the more educated one is, the more likely they are to lean liberal. So they've gone to war against education in general, and college in particular. It's obvious, and it's glaring, and it needs to be stamped out now. None of this stuff you think is going on on college campuses is actually happening in any meaningful way, but that doesn't stop places like T_D absolutely railing against higher education.
I lurk there often enough to see the constant provocateurs wailing about "indoctrination centers", and how they're all going to do their damnedest to make sure their kids don't go to college to get brainwashed by liberals. The right has literally gone to war against people trying to educate themselves, and it's fed by exactly the same propaganda you've fallen victim to.
I do want you to know, I'm not blaming you for it, and I'm not trying to belittle you at all by talking about how you fell for such things. I totally understand how easy is it to buy into a narrative about something you don't have the requisite experience with, specifically when it's pushed so ferociously by news sources that you usually trust, that usually confirm your predisposed biases.
And I don't expect you to believe me, some random guy on the internet that could be a LARPing shill for all you know. But it is important that you at least come away from this realizing that the stories you're being fed by hyper-partisan sources just might not be true, and it's possible it's being done to serve someone else's interests.
"I love the poorly educated" - President Donald J. Trump
1 HahThatsSilly 2017-08-16
You're right, university students have a long history for no-platforming people they disagree with, and then responding with violence and the destruction of their campus/city. How dumb of me to forget that.
Such bullshit that the University of Pittsburgh did it.
Ok . UMass too . Another one . I could go on, but you get the point.
Total nonsense .
I think vilifying people for hurting your feelings is stupid. Microaggression freely admit that they're not on purpose, but yet are labeled an aggression anyways. And seeing as what's called a microagression (saying the most qualified person should get the job, for instance), they're a fucking joke. Just another way to protect the feelings of intellectual infants.
You should let FIRE know they can close up shop, then.
1 _____42_____ 2017-08-16
Yes
That hasn't happened. The antifa fucknuts at Berkeley don't actually go to school there. They're purposeful dissidents.
If you clicked your own link, you'd see that's entirely untrue. A single non-professor activist sent an email to some faculty encouraging them to do so, but no one actually did, because of course not.
So you're telling me you consider classes about diversity "white privilege classes"? Do you understand how those two things are not the same at all?
Total nonsense . Just like I said, you fell for propaganda from an extremely biased source that is misrepresenting the truth to push a narrative. FIRE is a garbage organization that not only purposefully misrepresents just about every undertaking they've ever pursued, but are also part of the exact bullshit-peddlers on the right who are seeking to destroy higher education.
I mean seriously, you linked to their site where they talk about "free speech zones", which they make to be the bastions of first amendment rights on campuses, where the reality is they're just common areas where solicitation is allowed . This is so every Tom, Dick and Harry can't be handing out pamphlets at the door to every building, proffering everything from tutoring services, to commercial sales, to that creepy guy down the hall trying to get everyone to join his anime meetup. What FIRE does is a joke.
You think it's stupid for someone to let you know when you've said something insulting, even if you didn't know it was insulting? Have you honestly never told anyone that something they've said has bothered you?
That's not a microaggression at all. This is the problem, where you're being fed a line of bullshit to the point we can't have a productive conversation. You don't even know what a microaggression really is, but you've been programmed to have a strong, visceral reaction to it anyway. This is purposefully being done to cause exactly such a reaction.
I honestly can't understand why you have such an aversion to people wanting to learn how to not offend those who are different from themselves.
I wish they fucking would.
1 HahThatsSilly 2017-08-16
So you don't like FIRE so therefore their research is garbage? I wish I could live by that standard. Impossible though since you've provided no evidence to refute my sources.
And you saying AntiFa doesn't represent berkley, why haven't they been denounced? Why were the police ordered to stand down there?
As to your claim that "right person for the job" isn't a microaggression, you're wrong. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/volokh-conspiracy/wp/2015/06/16/uc-teaching-faculty-members-not-to-criticize-race-based-affirmative-action-call-america-melting-pot-and-more/?utm_term=.86414f984c44
And diversity training absolutely is about how whites are oppressors and non-whites are oppressed. It's the whole reason they need privileged white folk to give them a helping hand. I've been to my fair share of classes, I know how they go.
1 _____42_____ 2017-08-16
I don't like FIRE because they spread obvious falsehoods and propaganda. Just like I've said before with their "free speech zone" bullshit that has nothing to do with free speech, and everything to do with open solicitation.
They 100%, unequivocally do not.
Guess you missed this:
.
Literal baseless propaganda. There's not a single shred of evidence to support that claim.
Do you mean aside from the 23 arrested for just the Milo incident alone?
No I'm not. It's not considered a microaggression by the very definition of the word. Just because you can find one person who says differently doesn't invalidate the what the word actually means. Just like how nearly everything you've said in this conversation thus far has been misrepresentations of truth, doesn't invalidate the actual truth of these matters.
And you know that how? Because you've been to these classes, right? Because I'm pretty sure you've already admitted you haven't.
No you haven't, because you obviously don't know what a class on diversity actually is, you're just parroting right-wing bullshit talking points, made up by people who have never even gone to college.
1 HahThatsSilly 2017-08-16
I love how you keep accusing me of propaganda yet you still haven't provided a single source. Funny how that works. Though I'll stand corrected on the condemnation part. A quick Google search didn't show me anything.
FIRE is a self identified liberal organization. What propaganda do they push? Can you actually prove their free speech zones study as false? You keep saying it's false so I expect you have sources.
And I love how you claim to know what I have and haven't gone to in my life, or what my family members have or haven't experienced. You also keep making it a point to say "only people who haven't gone to college". You're not trying to be a dick though.
I'm done responding until you can counter my claims worth actual sources and evidence.
1 _____42_____ 2017-08-16
C'mon now, I've literally gone line by line, and source by source to show the disconnect between the narrative you're pushing, and the reality of the situation.
That Universities are bastions of free speech-quashing, first amendment opponents who engage in thought control.
There was no study to prove false. There is only their assertions that a number of universities have such things (questionable), and that these are the only areas where free speech is allowed (patently false). How exactly would you like me to prove them false? Would you like to go on a tour of colleges together, to see that you won't be arrested for speaking your mind outside of these zones? Because if you experienced any of this first hand, you would realize what total load of bullshit it is.
You've told me what your experiences are. And I can tell from your blatant mischaracterization of the classes you've professed to go to, that you have no actual experience with them. It's the same as if one were to tell Buzz Aldrin that the moon was made from cheese, he would know they're full of shit because he actually experienced it.
It's because people who have gone to college know these characterizations of what happens there are lies
1 brain_on_drugs 2017-08-16
OK so you say that white people are discriminated against because they can't have white-only classrooms, you give an example of a college briefly offering an optional black-only class, and then turn around and say you weren't using the example you just gave as an example?
And now your point is not about white-only classes but instead a general statement about your perceived opinion of academia?
I'm not trying to be a dick but every time you make a point you seem to just walk back on it and then say it's not what you mean as you try to make a new point...
Maybe not the biggest one but you said it was a "major" one...
Secondly, it's not nearly as common or prevalent as you're trying to portray it as.
Define "a good amount" because I've followed this story very closely and have not seen this once.
Maybe you want this to be true and go looking for it? A form of confirmation bias?
I agree. But when you're talking about equality, things are not so black and white - no pun intended.
1 HahThatsSilly 2017-08-16
No, I'm just bad at making my point when I'm typing in a hurry between lines of code.
Here's my point -- white people are also discriminated against. It may not have as much historical context, but it absolutely is happening. Non-white groups/classes/etc are just one example of that. I find the class/uni one to be most problematic because that's where our future leaders are groomed.
It's also happening all over social media and in the news. It's usually phrased as "white men", which makes it harder to google and is really the perfect virtue signal :P
This article claims racism against whites just isn't important enough to focus on.
Here's Salon saying white men "must be stopped".
Huffington Post giving credence to the idea that science is only there to help white men maintain their power.
Again, The Guardian claiming that something being "too white, and too male" is a problem. Nothing would ever, seriously, be accused of being "too black" or "too female" and still end up being socially acceptable.
The Daily Beast claiming video games are too white, and too male, for "their own good". Whatever the fuck that means.
White Men Have Nothing To Complain About the Boston Globe.
Everyday Feminism believes that white people can't experience racism.
I specifically picked outlets that my liberal/progressive friends link to, speak highly of, and apparently respect. I could have linked to a lot more, but I'm not sure that would be fair.
None of these articles generated controversy. None of them sparked outrage. In fact, a whole term was created to describe white people who ask why it's okay to scapegoat them.
I mean, Lorde literally blamed all white people . Sitting at a cool ~18k retweets and ~70k likes.

So what about Asian pride? We have asian cultural festivals where I live... is that racist since they should be Japanese/Chinese/etc?
1 osm0sis 2017-08-16
I don't think anyone would have a problem with a European cultural festival (as long as the food is Italian and not British...)
But there's a lot of Asian immigrant communities in my city. I couldn't imagine them having an "Asian Pride" event as one mass group. The Chinese immigrants and Japanese immigrants fucking hate each other.

Nah, it's a cultural thing. The same might be said of Australians. You don't get a good culture when the nation's narrative is created by a bunch of prisoners.
1 HahThatsSilly 2017-08-16
Will your children actually have a "better life" if you refuse to assimilate into the "better" way of life?
1 Think_Once 2017-08-16
It's easier for an immigrant to make money and thus be successful if he/she stick to his/her community. The immigrant has instantly access to a vast network of people. The more successful you are, the better your children will fare.
Language is also a big barrier. If you move to a country and you don't speak the native language, you will have a hard time. So immigrants will stick together. That doesn't mean that they don't want to integrate. It's just easier for them.
You can do both. Find out where your roots are. Go in both directions, Native and European.
1 HahThatsSilly 2017-08-16
That's interesting. Do you have a source for this? I'm not doubting you, because it makes complete sense, I just want to read about it.. I find this stuff interesting.
I suspect that's true for some, or maybe even most. However, there are some that just flatly refuse to integrate. In fact, Linda Sarsour has been advocating for Muslims to resist integration into western society.
Right. However, as has been discussed, I can't really go European. If I say I'm proud to be a European, people are just going to hear I'm proud to be white and then accuse me of being a Nazi :P
So, in reality, in terms of society I really do only have one option and that's to only be proud of half of who I am. Society won't accept me being proud of my other half.
And I find that fact kinda sad.
1 Think_Once 2017-08-16
http://www.migrationpolicy.org/article/migrant-social-networks-vehicles-migration-integration-and-development/
That's one of the disadvantages of immigrant enclaves within societies. They don't have to.
Linda Sarsour is not an immigrant.
If you say you're proud to be European most will ask from which part in Europe you're from. Nowadays it shouldn't be hard to find out where your roots in Europe are.
European culture isn't really a thing. A Spanish person is vastly different from a Russian person, culturally seen. By claiming being proud the be European, people get confused and search for answers which can lead sometimes to accusations. Happens with other ethnic people, but not to a degree as with white people.
1 HahThatsSilly 2017-08-16
Thank you.
Agreed that's a problem. I think we should work to solve that, but I don't know how you do that without taking away people's right to freely associate.
Never meant to imply she was, apologies. I was merely pointing out that she actually advocates for Muslims to resist integration. Was just one exception to the rule, is all.
Oh, I know exactly where I'm from. As I said, it's not really something society would take kindly to me being proud of. Again, nobody wants to hear me say "I'm proud to be a white, Christian, Italian man!"
1 Think_Once 2017-08-16
She said "our priority is not to assimilate". That can mean different things. Some people will interpret it as "resist any integration" and some will interpret it as "Muslims living in a Western country should follow Islamic rules as far as possible". One person hears something nefarious and one person would just equate it with the words of a Christian pastor which preaches to reject consumerism.
Go to Africa and nobody will tell you that they are a "proud black, Christian, Nigerian man". They will tell you that they are a "proud Christian and Nigerian man".
Most African American in the US don't have the luxury to tell you their heritage. They can't say "I'm proud to be a black, Christian, ..." ... what? So they build a new identity around being black, because that was the only thing they have left after slavery. So in the US you have Caucasian telling "I'm proud to be a Italian Christian" and African American telling "I'm proud to be a Black Christian".
1 HahThatsSilly 2017-08-16
And I have no problem with that. I just have an inherent problem with double standards. I don't care if some think it's "right". I really don't.
Double standards are not a path to unity and equality, they're just further division.
1 Think_Once 2017-08-16
If you want to eliminate that double standard then complain to white supremacists. These people took away the phrase "white pride". As long as they use it, you will have to live with the fact that you will be lumped together with them if you say that you're pride to be white.
1 HahThatsSilly 2017-08-16
So why don't we old blacks to the same standard? Black Panthers, and their ilk, were/are pretty violent.. why isn't anyone who says they're proud to be black lumped in with them? I'm pretty sure I'd be called racist if I did that.
This is what I'm saying, though. You tell me I have to fix the people of my race, but then don't wanna tell the black people to fix the people of their race.
Are all "black pride" people guilty because BLM killed a few white police officers? Do they wear that scarlet letter for the rest of their lives, too?
And look, I am not saying blacks haven't had a shit ride in America. Of course they are. But we're never going to get past it when the double standard lives and when race continues to be a focal point in our society.
The removal of statues isn't fixing it. Holding different races to different standards isn't fixing it. Racism is profitable, and until that stops racism will continue to be front and center.
1 Think_Once 2017-08-16
Do you see any Black Panthers rallies around here in the US calling for murder of all white people? I don't.
That dude in Dallas which killed five police officers was not a member of BLM. Also some of the cops where Hispanic or Black (Zamarippa in Dallas orJackson on Baton Rouge). They were not killed because of their skin color. They were killed because they were cops.
"Black pride" was never about being superior, "White pride" is. White people are creating this double standard. Go to the next white supremacists rally and try to argue with them that using phrases like "white pride" will divide the country.
Glorifying traitors to the Union doesn't help. I just quote General Robert E. Lee:
"As regards the erection of such a monument as is contemplated; my conviction is, that however grateful it would be to the feelings of the South, the attempt in the present condition of the Country, would have the effect of retarding, instead of accelerating its accomplishment; & of continuing, if not adding to, the difficulties under which the Southern people labour. All I think that can now be done, is to aid our noble & generous women in their efforts to protect the graves & mark the last resting places of those who have fallen, & wait for better times."
http://leefamilyarchive.org/papers/letters/transcripts-UVA/v076.html
Letting African American having a culture and heritage isn't holding races to a different standard.
1 HahThatsSilly 2017-08-16
No, but not letting whites have their own is. You claim all you want "but whites don't have a culture" but that's bullshit. Many whites in America are so far removed from their roots that they don't even matter anymore.
Also, letting a statue live is not glorifying what the man stood for. I'm actually shocked people believe that.
Well, maybe I'm not because you're apparently a Nazi if you defend their first amendment right.
1 Think_Once 2017-08-16
I never said that. White people have German, Dutch, Italian, Polish, French, British ... and so on, culture. There is no European or white culture. Ask a white French citizen and a
1 HahThatsSilly 2017-08-16
How much of this is a product of us being sold, for many many many years, that there is no "White or American culture"? I hear that all the time . When you grow up in a world that believes that, of course nobody is going to have a hard and fast definition.
Though I would bet if you asked 50 black people what "black culture" was, you'd get 50 different answers as well.
If people are unaware of American history then we have a far greater problem than a fucking statue. This is shit I learned in grade school.

Here's an opinion.
Who cares anymore? "Conspiracy theorist" was a smear term coined by the CIA. But we can take that back for ourselves and wear it proudly. Black slavery was done by white people's ancestors, not current white people.
It is time to let go of certain stigmas. Time to change.
White people get to have pride. That's the bottom line. No feeling remorse for slavery. No feeling bad for "white privilege". White supremacy will fade to the background when all white people have "white pride".
Slavery was abolished with the help of, get this, white people. I'm proud of that. Slavery was around long before the USA, but there were some white people in the USA who recognized the need to put an end to it in the USA. You don't have to lose your heritage to have racial pride or identity.
1 y0uh3adspl0de_pc 2017-08-16
White pride exists though, we have family traditions that date back a long time, christmas is a very white holiday, st patricks day, thanksgiving, and a ton of other holidays. There isn't a general "white pride" because white people are way more diverse than other groups in america. Black pride is a bunch of people that for the most part were brought over as slaves, they all share this. White pride makes no sense, you've got Italians celebrating with spaniards where the only connection is skin color, that is just racist. It would be like an asians pride holiday, something that in many cities is broken into many things like asian islands, mainland chinese, japanese, korean and so on diverse pride days.
1 c0ntr0ll 2017-08-16
How does being from diverse ethnic groups make you the majority? You just admitted white people are from a more diverse background, comprised of many small ethnic minorities.
1 y0uh3adspl0de_pc 2017-08-16
But can you tell someone is half German half Italian from looking at them, no, can you tell someone is black or hispanic, yes. No one is treated different from other white people as long as you don't have an accent. White people are very similar in the US, unlike in Europe is why they all count together. In Europe a german and italian speak different languages and have different accents and celebrate different holidays. In US we have a southern accent and a non southern accent (for the most part) and Christmas is a national holiday that you can talk to anyone about. US is a giant unified ball of culture and people all across the country do the same shit, christmas, birthdays, football, baseball, first car, all very shared cultural ideas in the US. Black people and Gay people share all these but just want to express the slight differences they face due to a history of oppression and show that they too are here in America, making a difference while being so similar.
1 c0ntr0ll 2017-08-16
A large portion of BLM promote Islam not Christianity, just for the record.
1 y0uh3adspl0de_pc 2017-08-16
No, they only promote racial injustice from law enforcement. None of them are wearing burkas and black people are very Christian in the US.
1 c0ntr0ll 2017-08-16
What about the Nation of Islam?
1 Better_Bit 2017-08-16
Sure, white people nowadays mostly are not slave owners, but african Americans and other minorities still face racism with serious and even deadly consequences.
What is there to be proud about being white tho? Im proud of my citizenship, but thats got little to nothing to do with my skin colour.
1 hotdogsfromchicago 2017-08-16
If you are white then nobody should make you feel ashamed, or not proud, to be white. That makes white inferior as a race, race superiority/inferiority is the definition of racism. And many white do people feel this way, but by not being proud themselves, they are perpetuating racism by making theirs inferior. Be proud of your race no matter what it is. Be ashamed at the people who do bad things like slavery. Did you know white countries like Poland and Lithuania had banned slavery by the 1500's? That's a good 100 years before slavery was even a thing in the USA. Ancient Rome enslaved all kinds of races including whites. Why can't whites be proud?
1 Better_Bit 2017-08-16
Dude im not ashamed either. I just am. I do actually think that race pride is by definition racist. Cultural pride isn't. Where is this idea of white inferiority???
Yeah mate slavery is not the only incidence of racial disparities. There's shit like ya know genocide, racial bashings, judiciary bias, jim crow laws, etc etc etc.
I have nothing to be proud of, racially, when people are still suffering racism.
1 c0ntr0ll 2017-08-16
Except white people also suffer racism, so your point is illogical at best, hypocritical and self-depreciating at worst.
1 Better_Bit 2017-08-16
What kind of systematic power based racism do white people suffer?
And talk about hypocritical mate, you completely ignore points on the other side and dismiss any form of discussion. You didnt post this to have a genuine discussion. This is a blatant agenda post.
1 c0ntr0ll 2017-08-16
Now you're redefining the worst racism. Racism is the prejudice and generalization of a group of people based on their characteristics of race. It has nothing to do with a system of anything.
I don't ignore points on the other side, I've been responding and making more comments in this thread than any other. Arguing the same points over and over with people becomes mundane I'm sorry if one of your comments was ignored.

What a load of crap. Are you trying to say that negro slaves were the only slaves in history, and that they and their descendents are the only ones who lost their roots?
Slavery was enormous throughout the history of the Khmer empire in southeast Asia, (the largest pre-industrial city in the world), that I know of, and across many parts of the ancient world throughout history.
Slavery is in the Jewish Bible, (The Old Testament), and in the Koran.
The Arabs were not only shipping slaves out of Africa for a thousand years, but they were raiding the northern Mediterranean coastline and carting off European women and children as slaves too.
Just Google some history and stop playing the victim mentality. Most people have had some nasty shit in their ancestry, not only black people. There's no excuse for acting precious hurt and entitled.
Google white slavery, European slavery, slavery in europe, ottoman slavery, Istanbul slavery, etc.
The Ottoman penetration into Europe in the 1350s and their capture of Constantinople later in 1453 opened new floodgates for slave-trade from the European front. In their last attempt to overrun Europe in 1683, the Ottoman army, although defeated, returned from the Gates of Vienna with 80,000 captives.874 An immense number of slaves flowed from the Crimea, the Balkans and the steppes of West Asia to Islamic markets. BD Davis laments that the ‘‘Tartars and other Black Sea peoples had sold millions of Ukrainians, Georgians, Circassians, Greeks, Armenians, Bulgarians, Slavs and Turks,’’ which received little notice.875 Crimean Tatars enslaved and sold some 1,750,000 Ukrainians, Poles and Russian between 1468 and 1694. 876 According to another estimate, between 1450 and 1700, the Crimean Tatars exported some 10,000 slaves, including some Circassians, annually—that is, some 2,500,000 slaves in all, to the Ottoman Empire.877 The Tatar slave-raiding Khans returned with 18,000 slaves from Poland (1463), 100,000 from Lvov (1498), 60,000 from South Russia (1515), 50,000–100,000 from Galicia (1516), during the ‘harvesting of the steppe.’ Numbers from Moscow (1521), 800,000 were taken and from Valynia (1676), 400,000 were taken. 800,000 from Moscow (1521), 200,000 from South Russia (1555), 100,000 from Moscow (1571), 50,000 from Poland (1612), 60,000 from South Russia (1646), 100,000 from Poland (1648), 300,000 from Ukraine (1654), 400,000 from Valynia (1676) and thousands from Poland (1694). Besides these major catches, they made countless more Jihad raids during the same period, which yielded a few to tens of thousands of slaves.878 These figures of enslavement must be considered in the context that the population of the Tatar Khanate was only about 400,000 at the time. (1463-1694) while sources are incomplete, conservative tabulation of the slave raids against the Eastern European population indicate that at least 7 Million European people-men, women, children were enslaved by Muslims.
Sources suggest that in the few years between 1436-1442, some 500,000 people were seized in the Balkans. Many of the captives died in forced marches towards Anatolia (Turkey). Contemporary chronicles note that the Ottomans reduced masses of the inhabitants of Greece, Romania, and the Balkans to slavery eg from Moree (1460)-70,000 and Transylvania (1438) - 60,000-70,000 and 300,000-600,000 from Hungary and 10,000 from Mytilene/Mitilini on Lesbos island (1462) (Bulgaru p 567) and so it continued.
Barbary Slavery Ohio State University history Professor Robert Davis describes the White Slave Trade as minimized by most modern historians in his book Christian Slaves, Muslim Masters: White Slavery in the Mediterranean, the Barbary Coast and Italy, 1500–1800 (Palgrave Macmillan). Davis estimates that 1 million to 1.25 million white Christian Europeans were enslaved in North Africa, from the beginning of the 16th century to the middle of the 18th, by slave traders from Tunis, Algiers, and Tripoli alone (these numbers do not include the European people which were enslaved by Morocco and by other raiders and traders of the Mediterranean Sea coast), 16th- and 17th-century customs statistics suggest that Istanbul's additional slave import from the Black Sea may have totaled around 2.5 million from 1450 to 1700. The markets declined after the loss of the Barbary Wars and finally ended in the 1830s, when the region was conquered by France.
In 1544, the island of Ischia off Naples was ransacked, taking 4,000 inhabitants prisoners, while some 9,000 inhabitants of Lipari Island off the north coast of Sicily were enslaved.870 Turgut Reis, a Turkish pirate chief, ransacked the coastal settlements of Granada (Spain) in 1663 and carried away 4,000 people as slaves.
The barbaric slave-raiding activities of the Muslim pirates had a telling effect on Europe. France, England, and Spain lost thousands of ships, devastating to their sea-borne trade. Long stretches of the coast in Spain and Italy were almost completely abandoned by their inhabitants until the nineteenth century. The finishing industry was virtually devastated.
Paul Baepler’s White Slaves, African Masters: An Anthology of American Barbary Captivity Narratives lists a collection of essays by nine American captives held in North Africa. According to his book, there were more than 20,000 white Christian slaves by 1620 in Algiers alone; their number swelled to more than 30,000 men and 2,000 women by the 1630s. There were a minimum of 25,000 white slaves at any time in Sultan Moulay Ismail’s palace, records Ahmed ez-Zayyani; Algiers maintained a population of 25,000 white slaves between 1550 and 1730, and their numbers could double at certain times. During the same period, Tunis and Tripoli each maintained a white slave population of about 7,500. The Barbary pirates enslaved some 5,000 Europeans annually over a period of nearly three centuries. Great history lesson. Too bad it has nothing to do with the context of minority pride movements in 20th and 21st Century America .
1 cbthrow 2017-08-16
I don't know if he just misunderstood the guy's point or what, but that was quite a bit of stuff he just wrote up for nothing.
1 Ugsley 2017-08-16
If you can't see the connection even when it's spelt out for you then I will give you a clue.
In the 20th and 21st century, do the surviving victims of the 1995 Bosnian genocide whine and complain and use the terrible times they suffered at the hands of the Serbs, the starvation, the rapes, the beatings, the daily murders, to justify self-pity or special treatment?
Between one and two million Khmer were murdered by the genocidal socialist Totalitarian Pol Pot between 1975 and 1979. The population tortured and enslaved in his attempt to enforce a Maoist style of Communism.
Do the surviving "enemies of the state" use that as an excuse for choosing to behave atrociously and seeking special treatment?
In just 4 years between 1958 and 1962 at least 45 million people were worked, starved, or beaten to death in Mao's Great Leap Forward - enslaving the peasant population in an attempt to make his brand of communism as productive as western economies.
Did the surviving peasants act up and demand special treatment?
No. If they did, they would conveniently disappear into the prisons for profits system.
That's the clue:
It's only because they already have it so good in the societies we have built in the last 100 years, that they are accepted, and feted with affirmative acion and extra attention.
We don't throw gays off tall buildings. We don't stone them to death. People with black skin have the same legal rights as people with yellow skin or pink skin. Sure, there are racists in every society, African, Asian, European. But most people try to be fair.
Our societies have made, and are continuing to make progress towards equality.
Are gay groups doing anything to help their unfortunate gay brothers, sisters, and all the other 70 odd genders trapped in persecuting countries? I haven't seen it. They're to busy poncing on about themselves.
Black people in the USA and here appear to be so busy nurturing their grievances they are poisoning themselves with resentment and bitterness. It would be nice to see more of them follow the examples of the good people among them instead of following the worst examples.
I don't know if it exists but it would be nice to maybe start some kind of a brotherhood movement to offer help and guidance for their enslaved, and persecuted brothers in Africa, particularly in the Muslim countries and in inter-tribal conflict zones.
We already have many NGO'S like UN, MSN, Amnesty, Red Cross, etc, but it would be nice to see some solidarity.
1 chinagreenelvis 2017-08-16
I don't know, have they gone through two centuries of persecution, segregation, having no rights, and being treated not as second-class citizens, but as animals ?
1 Ugsley 2017-08-16
Now you're changing the goalposts.
You asked me to be specific about the 20th and 21st century, because I was citing history, now you want 200 years.
Yes, poor people in the USA often suffer multi-generational deprivation, you are right, and some of them look at black supremacists and think, if it's ok for them then it's ok for us because we don't even have affirmative action working for us.
But that's not what I am talking about. I'm talking about the victim industry, the middle-class Caucasian self-loathing that feeds it, and creates even more hatred and social division than without their involvement. I'm talking about fake historical Narratives used to promote this culture of victimhood and resentment.
1 chinagreenelvis 2017-08-16
The last two centuries are relevant to the 20th and 21st centuries in the context of this conversation. Slaves from the Ottoman Empire aren't.
If you're concerned about a culture of victimhood, you have to understand it before you try to change it. You can't just tell every black person in America that they're wrong to feel like second-class citizens and expect the ones in dire circumstances to magically teleport out of them.
1 Ugsley 2017-08-16
I don't expect anyone to magically improve their situation. I would however like people to try to improve their situation without resorting to crime, violence, or extorting the victimhood industry. I have a fair understanding of victimhood having worked among it in my own country, and it's not only confined to people of a particular colour or race, however in the USA, one colour or race has become famous for it, culturally and statistically. It's sad, because it's a disease that affects not just the victim, but everyone in the vicinity.
1 Todos1881 2017-08-16
I don't fully agree but I see where you're coming from. Latinos can trace their heritage no problem. Same with Asians.
Cain Celasquez former heavyweight champ of the UFC has "Brown Pride" tattooed on his chest but nobody gives it a second thought and it's viewed as honorable.
Asian pride is not used as often but it is used and is 100% acceptable in the eyes of the media. http://www.visibilityproject.org/asian-pride-project/
Slavery was horrible and there's no doubt that the effects are still seen today. African Americans where stripped of their identity. I just wanted to point out that they can all trace their identity with today's technology. I don't expect everyone to pay money and start changing black pride to Ethiopian pride I'm just simply pointing out that we can trace the countries that blacks are from. www.africanancestry.com/home
I agree with a lot of what you say because I agree that the terminology "black pride" or "gay pride" clearly came about from being opressed and needing to show strength. But I think in today's world there is a double standard.
1 Think_Once 2017-08-16
Yeah, but this technology wasn't available when African American built their new identity after they were freed. They have now a new culture, a new identity, including black pride. That's also why it's not a double standard. Go to Africa and ask if someone is pride to be black. They won't give a fuck. They will be pride to be Nigerian or from a specific tribe. Black pride is an American thing.
Yeah, because contrary to the term "white pride, you don't have Asian supremacists marching around in the US chanting "Asia pride".
1 Todos1881 2017-08-16
The fact that there is some extremist white supremacists does not mean that there can't be average white people who believe they can have pride in being white. The biggest white supremacist gathering which took months to plan couldn't get more than 300 people to come in Virginia. Some of those assholes were even from Canada as shown on Vice news.
Just like the fact that there is 200,000 black Hebrew israelites in the US with thousands of them who are deemed black supremacists by the Southern Poverty Law Center...that doesn't take away from the average African American who believes in black pride.
Here's your average black supremacist screaming that white people are scum and black people are the chosen people in the middle of Time Square. The news will neverrrrr report that though: https://youtu.be/dlRMcyoGUG8
1 mtnrddt 2017-08-16
Oh my gosh, I think I've seen these guys. When I was a kid my dad loved black art and was friends with all these artists and every Sunday we would go hangout at the weekly street fair with pretty much only black people. These guys would be there with a couple big guns (may have been fake, hopefully they were) and this guy would just go off on the PA system calling out white people, he would always point at us, calling for "death to the white man" and it scared the living shit out of me.
My dad and his friends would just shrug it off and laugh, and we were welcome otherwise.
Never knew who they were but they look just like that.
1 Todos1881 2017-08-16
Those guns weren't fake. The Southern Poverty Law Center clearly states they have been becoming more militant over the years. Imagine if the news was showing videos of these guys and CNN was puting out breaking news that "Black supremacists becoming more militant." 1 wwwwho 2017-08-16
If I understand what you are saying black people who know their parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, etc country of origin can not have "Black Pride". How about people of European descent who don't know their specific heritage. Can they have "White Pride"? Can people have "American Pride" because we are a melting pot of many ethnicity? How about "Chicago Pride" because I choose to associate myself with my city of origin?
1 Think_Once 2017-08-16
Well, they can try, but they will be thrown in the same pot as white supremacists which shout "white pride" at every occasion.
That's already a thing.
Yeah sure.
1 wwwwho 2017-08-16
By your standards should those people be allowed to justifiably claim "White Pride"? And again, what about Black people who know their heritage? All this stuff strikes me as somewhat arbitrary with some people thinking their judgement is valid, but other people's is not.
1 Think_Once 2017-08-16
By my standards they can try to claim it, but I don't think that they will be successful with it. White supremacists won't stop shouting "white pride" and white people which want to use the phrase "white pride" in a non-discriminatory way a few and far between.
In America they are still raised wit African/Black American culture and black pride is a part of it.
1 wwwwho 2017-08-16
Again, this seems arbitrary except from the point of view of power. Legitimacy of a claim has little or nothing to do with the exercise of rights without conflict. How about black Africans who are resent immigrants; do the get to claim "Black Power"? It seems you are trying to explain the situation, not necessarily advocate it. But I may be misinterpreting that.
1 c0ntr0ll 2017-08-16
The point I'm trying to make is that you can't justify some and not others. Either they should all be taboo or none of them should be.
Division is division.
Why not have human pride?
1 giuseppe443 2017-08-16
its a thing already just not with that name. For example when the united states landed on the moon its not only considered a american achivment but one of mankind
1 c0ntr0ll 2017-08-16
People express pride of their city via sports team regularly. I'm sure you cheer for the Bulls or Hawks and own some of their merchandise. Maybe I'm wrong, but it's not uncommon.
It's tribalism. Us vs. Them. Except this isn't a game. Human lives and entire countries are at stake.
1 wwwwho 2017-08-16
As far as I can tell I agree with you. Perhaps you haven't followed this particular thread from the beginning. European Football can be fatal...just saying.
1 targetedindividual 2017-08-16
I agree with this opinion, and to add something... It's a very poor generalization to believe that accomplishments by people based on the only fact of race, would disregard local culture, education system, incoming and purchasing power given by the economy, opportunities and support you find in such country, cultural spaces that contributed to the achievements and so forth.
So in my opinion that will to disregard all other aspects, and to generalize the success as race considering the cultural differences between white countries (sometimes even states) can transcend into an implicit statement that whites or Caucasians are biologically superior so those accomplishments belong to the race, not the country or the culture, but people from any race can fall for the same and find any excuses to justify the point, because they'd be looking for them.

This was an excellent response and the first I've seen that is logical, sensical, and well written. Thank you for it! However, to OP's point it is a racist double standard. For example, I know I'm Swedish, Norwegian, and Native American on my moms side. On my fathers side, he was adopted so I really have no idea other than he's white. For half of my genealogy, it's really no different than a black slave descendant living in the US. My mothers family never identified with any of their nationalities and we never celebrated any of that ancestral culture. I'm an American and happen to be white (but I tan well!); that is my identity. So for me, without identifying myself with any of my mothers ancestral nationalities your succinct response doesn't hold water. In addition, I know many black people that have smatterings of many other ancestral cultures in their genealogy as well, so I don't feel your argument applies well there either, or at least not any different than in my case. As a side note, the recent derogatory racial label of white nationalist is disturbing. When I first heard it, I identified with that. I love my country and I'm white...wrong!! I was disgusted to see what Googles definition was. Not me!
1 Think_Once 2017-08-16
That was the choice of your mother's family. They could have celebrated their culture, but they did not. A choice African American don't have.
I does hold water. You are able to celebrate your Swedish, Norwegian and Native American heritage. You just don't do it. There are plenty of African American which also don't choose to celebrate "black pride" or "black identity". But if they want to celebrate their heritage, they can't fall back like you to specific ones. They are limited to the new black identity African American build after they were freed from being slaves.
White nationalist = Nationalist which wants a country only for Whites. That's the definition. If you just want a country for Americans, free of immigrants and a America First policy, regardless of skin color, you're a nationalist (not a white or black nationalist).
1 Kancer86 2017-08-16
I'm Polish, and can't trace my heritage back because actual Nazis destroyed it, and yet I still have white pride. Riddle me that
1 Think_Once 2017-08-16
There you have your heritage.
African American can't even track back the country they come from.

Racial pride of any kind is ridiculous, in my opinion. Pride should be reserved for things you do, not things that happen to you by accident of birth.
1 c0ntr0ll 2017-08-16
I have pride in the human race. Other people will tell you thats honky conservative bullshit and throw rocks at me though.
1 zcicecold 2017-08-16
Someone else posted that whites are the most difficult group for the NWO to manage, and honestly that might be the best explanation you're likely to get.
Globalists (who are actually just Communists) need to find ways to convince people they are oppressed victims. So who is responsible for their plight? White people! Therefore, a concerted effort must be made to guilt/shame/force white people to compliance with their world view.
1 ansultares 2017-08-16
Yes, and more specifically, the West.
They don't give two shits about identity politics in China. Well, they might give half a shit, just enough to round you up as a dissident and imprison you.
1 mastigia 2017-08-16
This is the best answer. There are other well thought out answers in this thread too, but they all invariably lead us to some kind of inequity based on genetics.
1 sorceryofthetesticle 2017-08-16
Is it ridiculous to be conscious and proud of your parent's achievements in providing for you and those around you? How about of your grandparents, great grandparents, great-great grandparents etc..? Racial pride is recognizing and honoring the struggles that your ancestors went through. How is that in any way ridiculous?
Yes, there are slack-jawed idiots of all colors who think that their skin color imparts them with special powers and privileges, and that is ridiculous, but it's stupid to call that racial pride.
1 zcicecold 2017-08-16
That would be familial pride. The racial make up of your family over the course of history could take many twists and turns.
1 sorceryofthetesticle 2017-08-16
Of course there are twists and turns. The point I meant to make is that at some point down the lineage your 'family' becomes indistinguishable from 'a huge interconnected web of people who, much more likely than not, shared similar selective pressures and gene pools due to geographical and cultural limitations' which is I think is a decent approximation of 'race.' No reason not to be proud of that history, imo.
1 I_am_BrokenCog 2017-08-16
You can not ignore history when talking about race in America.
European's spent 500 years treating Black Americans' as sub-human. That treatment has subsided in the past few decades, but has not disappeared: witness the hundreds rallying for racism in VA and elsewhere.
Black American's have had their culture ripped from them and bullshit narratives of subservience forced onto them. This is why in the 1980's Jesse Jackson created the term African American: He wanted to provide a cultural context to black people who didn't know anything about their heritage.
This is the exact same thing as Irish American's going back to Dublin to "reconnect" with their families etc. Or any other cultural rememberance of their family heritage.
The profound difference is those white cultures didn't have to re-learn anything because it was never stolen from them via enslavement, rape, lynching, imprisonment or torture.

People will simply tell you that they are. They aren't.
If you came out with a white pride parade right now, it would be reviled and bashed to death in the media and social media. It would be invaded.
The reason why is because it's about destroying the western way of life. It's that simple.
1 GirlNumber20 2017-08-16
Okay, I'm white. In fact, I perfectly meet Hitler's Aryan standards for whiteness. I'm slim, blonde, blue-eyed, of Nordic extraction, and I start to burn after just 15 minutes in the sun. Tell me how I, a white girl in Utah, am under attack? Since I can't think of a single instance in which I am being attacked for my skin color, maybe you can enlighten (pun) me.

This is just to get you started. If you think this is all bullshit, go start a white pride parade and get back with me, if you're still free and able.
It's not that these are all, (and there are dozens of more examples from minority groups openly discussing or acting in the tearing down of "white" representation, either physical or logical), institutionally protected, and would be met with severe criminal action if scripts were flipped to even a fraction of the same degree.
Furthermore, being a woman, you're uninhibited by further issues like mens rights and particularly white male "privilege" and "toxic" masculinity.
The white male, in particular, is facing an onslaught from everyone who is not a white male. Yet still, white males compete with other white males.
1 YoshiTakimatsui 2017-08-16

Ya but, one part of me is English, of which I am disgusted with their imperial and genocidal history.
The other part is native American, who were effectively destroyed as a people by the English and Settlers ....and I look too white to be accepted as part of that community.
Sooooo all I have is the Constitution (goodish thing) and The founding fathers to identify with, who themselves ...were deeply flawed individuals relative to our current cultural tolerances
....so I can't really be proud in that heritage either without being branded a conspiracy theorist or domestic terrorist........
Wtf am I supposed to do.
I don't exactly agree with needing White Pride because of the clear historical taboo implied with that 'movement' - but I need something and seem to have nothing because anything I can honestly identify with is already vilified or I'm not accepted in #becauseimwhite
1 sweetholymosiah 2017-08-16
Because of the history of white racist violence towards non-whites. You have to place discourse in historical context to give it meaning. To say 'white pride' is not glorifying racist violence is to neglect history itself.

1 ansultares 2017-08-16
So, original sin. As in, it is impossible for white Americans to ever be absolved of the stain of slavery.
Seems very peculiar coming from a guy citing "historical context." The historical context for slavery is that virtually every society practiced it at some point. I don't see progressives talking much about slavery in other cultures. I don't see progressives at all talk about ongoing slavery in the Middle East and elsewhere.
Better to browbeat people who haven't themselves engaged in slavery at all, than to confront current slave holders, I take it?
1 StudntRdyTeachrApear 2017-08-16
Humans are always going to be tribal. Other tribes are rightfully threatened by European tribes when they identify as a group because, historically, we've been the most powerful and dangerous when doing so. It's much more comfortable benefiting from a host that's got a lot to give and remains passive. The fear sweeping liberal and minority extremists in the US is a natural response to said host losing patience and becoming resentful. Thank policies like AA taken to the extreme (radical egalitarianism) and immigration failure for fucking everything up.
1 Mouth2005 2017-08-16
Okay here's the thing, a large amount of blacks in America have no way of knowing where their ancestors came from before they were brought to America, you don't see a lot of nationality pride groups among black communities because a lot of them don't know exactly what nationality they should be celebrating. So for a group of people whose family history can't be tracked any further then slavery, they rally around a common thread that unites them and that is being black..... and for the most part black pride is about standing up against racism and hatred. They were and to some extent still are treated as second class citizens, so they stand together to demand change..... and none of the groups we see today like BLM are revolutionary either and these groups today could be argued as relatively tame compared to the days of Malcom X and black panthers who were advocating the use of violence to achieve their goals.
A good example of the difference, is the acceptance of other racial groups into their "racial pride" groups, one welcomes anyone willing to fight for their cause and the other only allows a very particular racial group. If you look at a BLM protest or black-pride gatherings there is always plenty of non-black participants who are fighting right along side of them demanding equality for all. Look back at the civil rights movement of the 1950-60's there were plenty of white people who were also part of the black pride or civil rights movement, and at times could be credited for bringing nation wide attention to issues that most Americans (even a few presidents) really wanted to ignore, I.e Andrew Goodman and the freedom summer activist..... hell even the evil socialist Bernie Sanders was arrested for protesting segregation laws. This is not true the other way around in any comparable fashion, white pride groups pushing the idea of white supremacy aren't exactly welcoming to anyone of color, and would even kill other white people who participated in the civil rights movement or fought for for racial equality.
White pride is bullshit and completely different than black pride, my recommendation is if you're not a racist and legitimately want to be proud about being white without being called a racist, join a nationality or heritage club/group, I have never seen anyone get upset about someone having Irish pride, Italian pride, British pride, Swedish pride, polish pride etc etc.. because those are not about racial superiority like white pride, they are celebrating an actual nationality, whose only goals are persevering and celebrating actual cultural and heritage traditions. White pride celebrates this false idea of being superior to other races simply because they're white, and even advocate genocide on basically every other race...... (except asians oddly, well they may hate asians also but they're not high priority at the moment....)
Maybe if they're wasn't a long history of racist and bigots trying to disguise their hatred by calling it "white pride" it would be different today, but they did, and that's the world we live in......
1 c0ntr0ll 2017-08-16
I don't disagree with much of what you said.
It's just overlooked that Caucasians suffer the same affliction as many African Americans. Their cultural identity is now "white." They have never been to the countries they have descended from, are of mixed nationalities they know little about, and are often preemptively wrong about their actual heritage.
Many people have been displaced. This too, is a problem for all.
1 feedmesources 2017-08-16
The difference there is white people haven't also faced the same historical exclusion from society that black people have in the US. Someone who was displaced from Ireland during the famine, for example, could take part in the community, own land, become a citizen, etc. Black people were barred from joining the community in a way displaced whites never were.
1 rockytimber 2017-08-16
Depends what you think "makes America great". They have the same problem in any country that considers itself exceptional and then tries to list out the reasons its exceptional. Look at Israel and the chosen people or Germany and the master race. The mythology of a country is based on stories from its past and its achievements. People seem to need to believe in that stuff and embellish it, but in America, the history stories exclude a lot of minorities who in relation to those stories are new comers or second class, not part of the original trajectory.
There is a new America but not everyone likes than anymore than they like the old America that killed off the native population etc. So in identity politics, the loudest most offensive whites want to make America White Again as a fantasy ideal. Thats what comes up in White Pride. So, the rest of the whites have to duck and suck up to everything that hates whites, and there is a lot that hates whites. There are social justice warriors of various identies that want to reshape America in ways that are not necessarily attractive to others, but they can still unify against the old white stereotypes and what they stood for. Leave it to Beaver and Father Knows Best are being dismantled, like it or not. Whites better learn to like rap music.
1 professorbooty25 2017-08-16
I either like rap, or I have to become a Nazi?! That sounds like a false choice to me.
1 rockytimber 2017-08-16
I wouldn't take that statement too literally. But yeah, as cultures take on people from outside, tastes change, people mix, things change, some of what you like goes away, some of the new stuff you don't like. Your kids turn out differently than you did. The extended family goes away, the nuclear or single parent family takes over, need I go on?
People everywhere sometimes get violent when their world changes more than they like, especially from "outside" influences. If their ideology or religion reinforces their anger, justifies violence, all the better.

1 anothersatori 2017-08-16
White pride is like claiming you hit a triple, when the rules were made to start you on third.
Feeling pride for yourself our your group is a survival mechanism. Think about it. If your an outsider and if the majority of people/prevailing sentemement of the time is you are worth less, why would you accept it? Why not do everything you can to band together show yourselves and the majority that your more than they say you are? Take pride.
People need to belong to a group, to feel they matter.
Expressing white pride is really about dealing with the fear that things are changing and you don't like it or it threatens you. Is that fear rational?

1 CivilianConsumer 2017-08-16
So you are justifying that is it okay for every other group to claim pride except for Caucasians. It's ok to single out one race and say they should feel shame for their ancestors. My family came to America in the 1930's from Europe with nothing to their name. They also have nothing to do with slavery or oppressing any other person or race. Why should they be scorned and pressured to not take pride in their race?
1 anothersatori 2017-08-16
I get taking pride in being american, or being from some state, or proud to be an ethnicity or decendants of immigrants or proud to be a packers fan.
I do get people taking pride in surviving.
I don't think you need to repent for your ancestors or mine, or feel shame. I do think we're still dealing with the fallout from our countries past. I also think it's on us, to fix it in our daily lives. That's me anyways.
1 mikellerseviltwin 2017-08-16

Do you think gays, latinos and blacks think they are better than everyone else when they chant about their pride? No. They are expressing that they want to be treated equally.
Head back to TheDailyStormer with this fucking bullshit. Oh wait, good luck finding it.

Why do people lie when it's so easy to copy and paste their comments? "Do you think gays, latinos and blacks think they are better than everyone else when they chant about their pride?" Bruh, you asked, I pointed to another fringe group. Just like the kkk, and white nationalists.
1 mikellerseviltwin 2017-08-16
we are talking about the difference between the people who claim "white pride" and the people who claim all the others. "Black pride" is not synonymous with your fringe black groups. The only people walking around claiming "white pride" associate with these hate groups.
I am sorry you aren't able to comprehend this.
1 professorbooty25 2017-08-16
I found a group doing exactly what you say doesn't happen. In the same vein of the white racists. Don't pretend you can't see that. That shit is the reason there are neo nazis marching in the street. Call the nazis racists, as equally as the other groups are racist. You can argue with me if you want to. I'm not your target audience. Because I call it equally.
1 mikellerseviltwin 2017-08-16
how do you not get this.
There are many groups that use "whatever pride" of their heritage that are not racist hate groups.
There are few groups that use "white pride", however all are exclusively racist or hate groups.
It really couldn't be anymore clear but thats the last time I will try to explain it to you, the point has obviously gone way over your head.

You're already part of the dominant culture in America. Minority groups celebrate Latin Pride or whatever because they want to celebrate their heritage. Your heritage is on display literally everywhere. No one's stopping you from speaking your native language, drinking pisswater beer, shopping at WalMart, hanging Truck Nutz off your car, or any other aspect of your culture. You're not a minority. Your skin color, your religion, your history, your values, everything that makes you American is the dominant culture and is celebrated every single day.
And by the way, I'm white, blonde-haired, blue-eyed and American, just for context. I don't feel like "my white culture" is being slighted in predominantly white America, for fuck's sake. What even is my "culture"? Deep-fried Twinkies? If I want to celebrate my Danish ancestry, I'll go visit Solvang .
If you want to celebrate your specialness, why don't you move somewhere where you're the minority so you'll actually be special?

1 sinedup4thiscomment 2017-08-16
My personal view is that shouting white pride is offensive because of its association with Neo-Nazis, where as black pride is associated not with racial supremacy, but with violent radicalism based in an oppression based justification (not one I agree with, but still the rationale nonetheless).
However expressing pride for your European ethnicity is perfectly fine. Our particular brand of civilization catapulted mankind technologically and socially through the scientific method and distinctly European political and economic philosophy. That's a wonderful thing to take pride in. Of course Western empire is guilty of atrocities, but all civilizations are. That's not a justification, but it certainly is a movement away from condemnation.
1 c0ntr0ll 2017-08-16

TL;DR Blame the Nazis.
When the average person thinks of "Black Pride", they think of people like MLK or Malcom X, both who history has looked favorably on. When you think of "White Pride", you think of Hitler, Nazism, and the "Aryian Master Race", all of which are despised by the common people. The stigma is why "White Pride" is considered bad.

Because "white" is an ahistorical artificial construct. There's nothing wrong with Irish Pride, or Polish Pride, or Italian Pride, etc, because those are actual places with long backgrounds and histories. Generic white pride, on the other hand, is celebrating something much more modern, without a unifying principle (like location or even heritage) other than justification for discrimination and mistreatment of native and black people. Black is different, because slavery means that modern African-Americans generally can't trace their heritage back to specific places pre-America.

Or you could approach things with logic instead of emotion and form an actual argument.
1 UN10N 2017-08-16
lol oh so now we're to use logic? Perhaps logic should have been used before asking why white pride is taboo. Use your head you tit.
1 c0ntr0ll 2017-08-16
The more you hate people for being proud of themselves, the more they are going to want to do it.
You should tell more white people they have nothing to be proud of. I'm sure your life will turn out great.

holy shit, you're not dumb. You're young aren't you?
1 UN10N 2017-08-16
This scares me even more, Who ever has put this idea in your head that this is actually all about white people wanting to be proud of themselves is a monster. Because this is really about hate, it's always been about hate and will continue to be about hate.

The real reason:
The Jew control the media, government, monetary institutions, and business. So they use their power and influence to get rid of whites.
1 GuillotineAllBankers 2017-08-16
Are you being oppressed because of your skin color, or because of your socio-economic status?
Why would you even be butthurt that you can't express "white pride" unless your a fucking racist. "White pride" comes from one particular strand of thinking that at it's root and core is fucking racist.
How about having some human pride, or pride in the brotherhood of man, or species pride, or even good ole American pride. Naw, you just want to be a resentful little shit, bitching about how it isn't fair that your race pride will never be taken seriously, and how it will never be considered anything other than racist. Whiteness didn't make many white people great. Their success and genius had and has nothing to do with them being white, and trying to appropriate that for your belief in a "white culture" that doesn't exist in any meaningful way (4chan is the future of this racist shit, and your future looks like the worst kinds of shitposts).
Of course, you are completely ignorant of actual culture, right? Do you have a favorite painter or poet? Do you understand the difference between classical and quantum mechanics? Do you get that the observable universe is only 1/1 000 000 000th of the size of the unseen universe? That means you are fucking insignificant and meaningless. You are a fucking accident of nature, who will be forgotten by time, like all of humanity regardless of skin color, orientation, religion, or frequency of anon shitposts. Just try getting over it and not giving a shit.
Get some real perspective (ie you and everyone around is ultimately nothing) and get the fuck over it. You'll be happier than sitting here stroking your rage cock.
1 c0ntr0ll 2017-08-16
I've actually expressed and shared the idea of human pride multiple times in this thread that you didn't read. Apparently you like to have knee-jerk responses to 400 comment posts without actually attempting to understand the opposing perspective.
Your rant is full of prejudice, hatred and generalizations. It's not me who is the bigot but perhaps you.
1 GuillotineAllBankers 2017-08-16
Uh no.
I've heard this perspective multiple times in my life. It doesn't get better with each new iteration.
Asking if you have some fucking culture is hate? Lol. You don't have a favorite poet because you have no soul. You don't have a favorite painter because you have no vision.
Lol. You aren't oppressed, you are repressed. It's completely obvious to anyone who has evolved past their lizard brain. Do you think it is good to work? to have a job? be a provider? because you are told everyday what to think at your job, how to behave, what you can be proud of. Are you harmed by that? because if you think that's true, then you are a fucking communist -- you just probably don't know it.
It's all imaginary, your bullshit, their bullshit, everybody's bullshit. IT'S ALL FUCKING IMAGINARY! magick is real now I curse you to see the horror that is life for all your remaining breaths ba-boom!
1 c0ntr0ll 2017-08-16
Except I do have a favorite painter. I'll admit I don't care much for poetry but there are plenty of other arts where I can choose favorites.
There certainly are not great European painters like Salvador Dali one could appreciate.
Seriously, what are you talking about?

By your own logic:
"Black pride, that's not culture. That's a skin color. There is no black culture, never was. There is no African culture, never was. Africa is a continent, not a culture or ethnicity."
This kind of dismissive rhetoric is not only untrue, it's prejudice and bigoted. Even when being said about white people.
1 bran_dong 2017-08-16
you don't have very good reading comprehension.
1 c0ntr0ll 2017-08-16
I literally just replaced the word white with black to prove what you said was bigoted.
It was painfully easy.
1 bran_dong 2017-08-16
did you read any part after the paragraph you altered? it literally explains the reasoning behind it.
1 c0ntr0ll 2017-08-16
Sure I can. Lots of liberal white people have been brainwashed into hating themselves.
1 bran_dong 2017-08-16
I don't hate myself, it's you I don't really care for. you have no argument against anything I said except a shitty example that shows you didn't understand the comment in the first place. quit skimming for trigger words and genuinely read the first comment again and if you really think your reply makes sense then we can just agree to disagree.
1 c0ntr0ll 2017-08-16
I mean most of the argument is dated. People seem to get triggered when their theory of not being able to trace their lineage gets thrown out by the publicly accessible ancestry.com and various other agencies that make a lack of national identity a moot point.
Then there's the fact the person said Europe doesn't have uniform culture (despite having the European union) while promoting pro-Africa rhetoric, like kicking out European settlers didn't result in the continent being decades behind in development. 85% of the continent doesn't even have internet and many places don't have electricity.
Some people apparently think asking others to assimilate into a society with internet and clean water, and higher living standards is a bad thing.
North Africa is being infiltrated by ISIS. How about South Africa?
1 OrangeCladAssassin 2017-08-16
Holy shit. Is this motherfucker is arguing for colonialism? What year is this?
1 c0ntr0ll 2017-08-16

1 OrangeCladAssassin 2017-08-16
Black pride exists because it's a way for black people to take something that has traditionally take power of something that was originally harmful. Blacks had been dehumanized, literally owned as property. Treated like second class citizens by many because of the color of their skin. Judge someone because they're black? They can take pride in who they are and empower themselves and others.
White pride on the other has a pretty rough history, typically associated with the very same people who were already treating black people like complete shit. White pride as we know it arose out of a feeling of superiority. Nazis, White Supremacists, the Klan.
Sure maybe not all white people can trace there heritage back far. Maybe they're so much of a mutt like me that they can't even keep track of all the different countries I have ancestors from. End of the day the white people in this country came here because their ancestors chose to. Also, as diverse as European cultures are, they're fairly homogeneous compared to the many of the cultures in Africa.
As for Africa kicking European settlers out, of course they did. They were exploited and largely controlled by Europeans for so long, whenever the chance arose to oust some European power in Africa, they did.
North Africa infiltrated by ISIS? What about South Africa. I wonder if it has anything to do with the geographical proximity in North Africa, combined with the fact that Islam is largely practiced in the region compared to South Africa (although that really just comes down to proximity too)
1 raycharlespride 2017-08-16
I'm not a bigot. I understand dark skinned people have darker pigment due to their environment. You live closer to the equator for thousands of years you will evolve . I get all that. However , I don't like or care for "black" culture. Does that make me a racist? Btw I'm a white guy
1 myles_cassidy 2017-08-16
I have better achievements to be proud for than the colour of my skin. Why should I be proud something I didn't achieve myself?
Why should I share 'pride' or associate with other people because of the colour of their skin?
1 mtnrddt 2017-08-16
In this day and age this is all so stupid.
From my DNA I found out I am Jewish, European white & brown, West & East Asian and Melanesian (black from Pacific Islands). About half Jewish, quarter European and equal parts all the rest. My siblings are roughly the same in varying quantities, but a couple also showed North & West African from 6 generations back. We have traced our specific ancestors and see we are descended from one US slave owner and one slave.
I've been accused by friends of being a racist and white privilege for ... well... for not voting for Hillary Clinton and not being all up in arms supporting BLM.
I look white, just plain white. Can't I just be proud of that? I guess I agree with the OP.
But to be honest, I can't really be bothered to care about being proud of it. I just be.
1 mastermind04 2017-08-16
All you have to do is switch it to your ethnicity then people won't care, instead of white pride have Ukrainian pride, or Irish pride. White pride has negative reaction due to Nazis and Kkk using it as a slogan effective ruining it. Where I live we have a large Ukrainian population so there are lots of events and stuff for Ukrainians and never have I once heard anyone, even SJWs complain about it. Although I have heard them complain that some festivals are cultural appropriation such as st Patrick's day.
1 mtnrddt 2017-08-16
What if you're a mutt from 6 different ethnicities, but you just look white?

1 missmetz 2017-08-16
There's the "majority social norms" and then there's anything outside of those social norms which are labeled "taboos". If the general consensus of a population is to get married (to the opposite sex), have kids, and get a job,, it isn't frowned upon. Now, when people go outside of these norms, they are ostracized and criticized, and since they are not part of the majority, they are by definition the minority. Minorities are not self labeled, but it is the majority who labels minorities and criticizes them. So to circumvent this criticism, minorities wear these labels as a badge of honor and have pride in going against the status quo. This doesn't apply to just social norms, it also applies to race... and seeing that the majority of people here in the U.S. are white... Well you get the picture. There's really no need to shout out your straight white male- it's redundant and we can already assume you are proud of your status and are taking advantage of the many benefits the majority herd community has to offer you.
1 missmetz 2017-08-16
Side note: you are absolutely right, lgbt/black/mexican pride etc exists only because the population is not equal. Somewhere along the lines, this equality is skewed. Based upon the fact that the majority is white and male (yes, females are minorities too), I wonder if we can make an educated guess as to where this inequality comes from.
1 ermanito 2017-08-16
Why?
Because the only people who I see shouting White Pride are fucking neonazis.
That's why.
1 LupusRexVidar 2017-08-16
Not all of them are Neo Nazis, the media just brands them all as such to fit their narrative.
1 lateral_us 2017-08-16
White people arent a race and our accomplishments cant be attributed to us as a whole, but you can damn sure bet every good for nothing lowlife with a little extra melanin will stick their hand out and tell you to fill it with your childrens food because of wrongdoings which they attribute to us as a whole. Still not a race and we shouldnt support one another. We should simply take our beatings in lonesome silence.
1 Trmpsuxclntndck 2017-08-16
Why does it matter what color your skin is?
Im proud of being who i am. Being white has nothing to do with it. How can you be proud of being white in times like this? Here are some reasons since your brain cant get past color: 1, most bankers, capitalist, politicians are white. 2, a woman is dead because of white pride. Man i could go on all day but why waste my energy?
We all bleed the same color.
I know black people that are more white than me ffs.
1 c0ntr0ll 2017-08-16
"A woman is dead because of white people"
Ah yes, because other races have never resulted in the death of a woman. Makes sense.
1 BanMikePantsNow 2017-08-16
Because whites constitute the bulk of the middle class. The middle class is always the greatest threat to the oligarchs. This is why some types of racism is glorified (BLM) while others are demonized.
1 LupusRexVidar 2017-08-16
Because the media/goverment want their soft genocidal program to continue. Because they fear the non-jew rising up and expelling them again.

Also, would you pay for the millions of DNA tests out of you pocket to find out the ancestors of every African American?
1 The_Deep_State 2017-08-16

how do you not get this.
There are many groups that use "whatever pride" of their heritage that are not racist hate groups.
There are few groups that use "white pride", however all are exclusively racist or hate groups.
It really couldn't be anymore clear but thats the last time I will try to explain it to you, the point has obviously gone way over your head.
