It seems like a ton of capital crimes were committed there. What a goddamn tragedy. I hope justice will be served some day, although I fear that may never happen.

Judgement will come just hope I'm alive to seem all of them hang.

Wasn't a young woman mysteriously killed there with ties to TPTB? I remember reading a thread on it before.

They came, they kidnapped children, they left to rape and eat the children, eventually they were exposed and punished.
And so it was written, so it shall be done.

Except they did not and will not get punished.

Do you think that 'most' celebs know where there money is going?
n/a jameszachary 2017-07-03
I very much doubt it.
n/a fuster_cluq 2017-07-03
Why doubt it? Some of these celebrities are very well connected, they probably have more insider knowledge than any random user here
n/a dbstfbh 2017-07-03
Some, but definitely not most. Most will play along anyway because that's what every other celebrity is doing. Useful idiots.
n/a fuster_cluq 2017-07-03
It'ss a pr stunt, whether or not they knew what happened to the money we can only guess
n/a jameszachary 2017-07-03
Some are very well connected. Most are vain morons who act and sing.

I actually spoke to someone high up in the Red Cross about this. This person told me that a lot of funds that were collected for Haiti were initially meant to rebuild Haiti. But after the introduction of cholera (by Nepalese people who came to help, this person said this was proven now), most of their funds went to fighting the disease. As the Red Cross is obligated by their own rules to help the weakest people first they could not stand by and watch people die while they were building houses. And that was the reason why they only built 5 or 6 houses there. This person also told me he knows how the media likes to portray things and actually looked genuinly disappointed that so many bad stories are told about what happened there. Im not saying there werent bad things happening but it was defenitely interesting to hear another point of view on this subject. Just thought I should share with you guys

The Red Cross should have a PR team to take care of misunderstandings such as this, no?
n/a LongLiveTheWorld 2017-07-03
I dont completely agree. An for profit organization of this size should have a PR team to take care of publicity. But the Red Cross is not a for profit organization. The understanding I got from this person was that the Red Cross relies on gifts and volunteers and have very few people who are actually paid to do their job (director etc.). They would rather spend money on actually helping people than an PR team.
n/a deadmethods 2017-07-03
Really? Is that why I found this PR team page on their very own website? And many other pages showing that they 100% hire people for all sorts of positions (low level and high level) and pay them.
I don't believe your fake anecdote because I've worked with someone who worked for the Red Cross before, he was paid and not "director status" or w/e you're implying.
Even Wikipedia isn't helping your argument:
So... housing and running water is what will ultimately eliminate the prevalence of cholera in Haiti. The Red Cross promises to build housing with $500 million dollars yet instead decides to treat those affected by cholera medically. That's totally fine temporarily but in the long run, Red Cross promised housing and Haitians need it to help fight cholera.
Downvote me all you want but something is ducky when Haitians ask people to specifically not donate to the Red Cross. I think they know best.

Im not trying to defend or promote the Red Cross. Just telling you what someone told me, no need to get so angry at a stranger on the internet. I also do not mind if you say my anekdote is fake. I think you made a good point and wish you the best. One love.
