Why would George Webb put himself at risk of a multi-million dollar libel/slander lawsuit if he weren't telling the truth? I'm still skeptical but I can't rationalize why he would make such bold claims unless the facts are on his side...

I won't fully believe his theory until I see arrests or more documented proof but it seems highly unlikely to me that an intelligent man such as Webb would put his entire livelihood at risk by making claims that he couldn't back up in court, especially since his accusations involve high ranking government officials and those associated with them...

GUys like Alex Jones do this kind of shit all the time, and we've seen exactly the strategy they employ when brought to court:
"It's all an act, I'm just playing a character! It's satire, protected by my first amendment right."
n/a g3374r2d2 2017-05-31
So this is the default response for anyone trying to spread any kind of truth in a social format?
n/a randersononer 2017-05-31
I feel like this is the only defence one can use in court when you don't have the hard evidence.
If you continue to carry on you will either be thrown in the mental or prison for slander.

Unless I've missed a ton of news, "guys like Alex Jones" = Alex Jones, and "do this kind of shit all the time" = "did this shit once." Or are there other nutjobs that you can use to smear legit investigators by desperately tenuous connection?
n/a tehorhay 2017-05-31
By "legit investigators," you are referring to hackjobs that parrot stories from literal fake news rags that posted his same "conclusions" 6 days ago?
n/a marginalia_ 2017-05-31
Oh look, there are more nutjobs you can use as smear jobs via desperately tenuous connection. I see you have not actually engaged any of his arguments, but just relied on ad hominems, and even ad hominems by unrelated proxy. Well done.
n/a tehorhay 2017-05-31
That is literally the disclaimer from the the fake news site that posted Webb's same conclusions 6 days ago. Right down to Alpha Jalloh being the trigger man.
How does this make you feel?
n/a marginalia_ 2017-05-31
I'm so glad that you care so much about my feelings! How very kind and considerate of you. I've already been on the record that I think his latest announcement is flimsy, and I'm not buying it. It's also something like 1/1000th of his actual output.

They're just making shit up basically. Jones didn't even say "it's satire", he just said that he puts on a performance when he does those videos. What the top level commenter did was the equivalent of seeing zombies in pro wrestling and decided to say "Wow, their athletic moves are so fake, obviously CGI." Jones is putting on a performance with his ridiculous antics, but that doesn't mean he's satire. Everyone who creates content like he does is a performer. HA Goodman is a performer, Tim Black is a performer, Rachel Maddow is a performer, Bill O'Reilly was a performer. They all put on performances for their shows, the only difference is that Alex Jones does a bunch of coke or something and raves wildly as part of his performance. Doesn't mean he's a liar or satire or anything necessarily, just that he's intentionally putting on a performance for his audience who expects that level of energy.

This is a good point. In addition, this came out in a custody battle for his kids--I'm giving the guy leeway for that, as I would a speaker from any political stripe.

Fame comes to mind
n/a g3374r2d2 2017-05-31
Lol. Game always comes to mind.
Truth is viral too though.
n/a FUCKY0URSELF 2017-05-31
Truth exists only when there is willingness to accept truth , one thing I have learned in the 40 plus years I have been on this earth is people only believe what they choose to believe, even if there is evidence in their face. Pretty pointless to shove truths in people's faces who absolutely believe their logic is the only logic
n/a g3374r2d2 2017-05-31
I'm having trouble identifying evidence anymore. I just listen to everything and remain joyful to learn more.
n/a FUCKY0URSELF 2017-05-31
"I'm having trouble identifying evidence anymore" A lot of people are, for we are living in an age that the media feeds lies and disinformation to deceive the public for the favor of the highest bidder/s
n/a NinjaSupplyCompany 2017-05-31
Is he getting any fame though? Outside of the_don and 4chan does anyone care or know who he is?
n/a ILLUMINATI_TRANNY 2017-05-31
I should have said hopes of fame and idk about the don or 4kek
n/a Afrobean 2017-05-31
Plenty of Bernie folks are on board too. HA Goodman has talked about Webb more than a few times and did an hour long discussion with him. Tim Black also did an hour long show on his progressive news YouTube channel.
n/a NinjaSupplyCompany 2017-05-31
Ah thanks for the detailed info!
You touched on one of my biggest gripes with the whole DNC scandal and that is the way it's been seemingly twisted and turned into a much different issue than it started out. It's become difficult to work on uncovering and exposing the corruption in the DNC when I just want to focus on the party fucking over Sanders and not murdering its staffers or eating Haitian children.

He seems to have a sense a humor about like he knows he is safe honestly. He seems like a pro
n/a The_Watterboy 2017-05-31
I noticed this too - like gallows-humorish. Honestly cant tell if he's legit or not, but certainly an interesting guy at the very least
n/a Loffler 2017-05-31
Making untrue statements does not necessarily open you up for a libel or slander suit.
n/a keag4n 2017-05-31
It does if the statements slander your reputation
n/a Loffler 2017-05-31
You have to be able to prove that the statement was made with malice
n/a keag4n 2017-05-31
That is not true.
n/a okokok7654 2017-05-31
Might it be considered malice if the accused party tries to make connection between George Webb and Russia... It wouldn't be hard for them to say he was just another complicit party in the Russians attempt to affect our governance. Lest we forget the PizzaGate allegations that Alex Jones recently apologized for because of a lawsuit threat from Alefantis?
n/a keag4n 2017-05-31
Ah. The libel laws are different in Canada.
n/a jmperez920 2017-05-31
Attention. Those slandered are already rich and have nothing to gain by filing a lawsuit. It would actually harm them by only bringing more attention to the issue. Webb, on the other hand, has everything to gain in regards to publicity. If this blows up he can even build a following to purchase future books, listen to a conspiracy podcast he can start, or any other game based endeavor.
Or, he could truly and honestly believe he's right, and just be wrong, not having all the facts. Or he could be ignoring the facts that disagree with him. Confirmation bias can sway even the brightest. Think of the most confident idiot you know. Give him superb speaking skills and confidence and he's still an idiot, regardless of how much risk he takes.
n/a DstopianParadise 2017-05-31
Also, I don't think he monetizes his vids and he's not pushing any product or redirecting people to any website. I don't think he's doing this to make money - at least not in the normal sense.
n/a Afrobean 2017-05-31
This idea is why I'm interested in seeing what happens going forward even though I don't buy the evidence he presented that identified the alleged killer. You can't just say "Person X is guilty of murder." Something will come of that happening, whether it be a lawsuit or otherwise.
n/a SHOW_ME_YOUR_GOATS 2017-05-31
Because no one else cashing out on Seth has been sued? Kim, Assange, the Fox actor "PI". All cashing out on this kids dead body and losing nothing for it.
n/a cholera_or_gonorrhea 2017-05-31
Don't know why it's so hard to believe there are some people in the intelligence communities who are sick of this game and want to change it.
I'm also surprised people are being so unimaginative when it comes to their attempts to discredit him. Why not at least claim he's a Trump operative working to implode the democrats, or that this is true, but won't come to light because it's detente against Trump impeachment? Or... that intelligence communities are aligning themselves to fracture the US population to weaken it. Something.
He recently gave his motive for doing this and it's one I believe: he has beef with FBI director Andrew McCabe because he called out one of his operations of entrapping a young guy to make his office look better, and McCabe has been threatening his family ever since. So, now he's blowing the lid on him facilitating things like money laundering, fraudulent businesses, etc.
What I do know is that there's serious fuckery about this story, case in point the fact that any mention of it is missing from the_donald. If Webb is so fake, why is there so much censorship from this story being covered? Why is periscope feeds getting wiped? Why are tweets being deleted?
The whole, "George Webb is LARPing" story cannot coexist with the censorship that we're seeing.
n/a Tatiebrooks 2017-05-31
I just am having troubles finding an end to this. Every single gilt of energy gets shilled and gets covered. And now that covfefe is apparently a thing, will the MSM even feel the NEED to comment on the GW findings???
It's just comical that a typo goes viral but men visibly and seemingly- genuinely fearing their lives is considered LARP
