McDonald's marketing is in overdrive

Thanks to Rick and Morty and Szechuan sauce, I have seen and heard more about McDonald's in the last couple weeks than I have in some time. Szechaun sauce just went for $14k on eBay.
Now with the Facebook killer being "spotted" cuz he just had to have him a 20 piece Chicken McNuggets, McDonald's is being heavily talked about in the news. All this crazy spy shit, the whole country looking for the guy and it took Ronald McDonald to find him.
Seriously, turn on the news or google Facebook killer, it seems as important as someone's murder that the guy was gonna eat some nuggets...
And the McDonald's workers are being praised as heroes.
How perfect...make the sauce a big deal then push the nuggets.
Hey, it could happen... McWorld! :)
And cuz everyone loves (ha!) a good Trump reference in every thread, McDonald's had that tweet last month were they called him pathetic and said he had tiny hands, then they claimed they were hacked. McDonald's wants to be in the news.

Flouride?

I'm sure there is that in the fountain drinks, but I was mainly talking about McD nuggets... Double whammy?

I ate McDonald's earlier today and I have felt horrible since. I can't do it anymore, fast food is not even appealing anymore. None of the chains it seems, I have consumed enough over my life and I am finally just realizing how bad this shit really is.

I feel the same way. I frequent one certain McDonalds in the city I live in only because I meet a friend there who won't go anywhere else. He is old and he won't change his ways, so whatever. All he has over there is a large coffee, and sometimes he has the "food". Same with me. I mostly choose the God awful coffee because it's the lowest calorie option.

McD coffee is not bad
n/a Demty 2017-04-19
Except there's more caffeine in apple juice.

Is McDonald's coffee known for being lightly caffeinated or something?
n/a Demty 2017-04-19
Yes. Half compared to a dunkin donuts medium at 145 mg. Dunkin is over 300mg

The coffee is better than Starbucks imo

The waste water of Bejing has a more bland taste than the one from Lagos, imo

So if its not real, what is it?
n/a antiquark909 2017-04-19
Yes, McDonalds is known to add flouride to its food and drink, that could explain why it 'tastes' so good, but is really just getting you to drink more. This also explains the coffee, as it is hard to add flouride to heated drinks

You must not have tried Sonic's Boneless wings... 10/10 every time.

Sonic is some good shit

I've heard of the Hamburglar... but not the Hammurderer. Everyone give a warm welcome to Happyland's newest resident!

I'm still waiting to pass judgement on the rick and morty sauce thing. If the sauce never comes back I'll be pretty confident it was a joke, if they do bring back the sauce relatively soon(coincidentally in time for the next episode?) then somethings fishy.

Have you watched the whole episode? There's definitely some nwo symbology/metaphors, also a lot in the show in general. Also justin Roiland is friends with the creator of Gravity Falls.
n/a IggysGlove 2017-04-19
Justin roiland(creator of the show) has been talking about that sauce for years. He just likes how it tastes. Relax.
He used to make McDonald's commercials that the company surely doesn't like. Example: https://youtu.be/S3AQl0LsRSE
You know they did a whole shoney's bit? Shoneys doesn't have a subliminal advertising budget.
n/a Demty 2017-04-19
Your right. Even if they bring the sauce back. It would be a wise choice. I don't think McDonald's will pass it up its just opportunity. They will probably jump on the train and why not. Not everything is a conspiracy.

I had never heard him talk about the sauce before. Dude just really loves that sacue.
n/a IggysGlove 2017-04-19
Remember that bit where rick was ranting about some crazy sale at Walmart on Nintendo 3ds? That was also a real life Justin roiland thing from years earlier.

Is this a joke?
n/a sailorchubbybutt 2017-04-19
What? $5.35 for a 20 pc Mcnugget is too much?
n/a Demty 2017-04-19
That's a rip. I can get heartburn for less on the dollar menu.

I think its funny that a good chunk of people going on and on about the szechuan sauce are way to young to even remember it legitimately. I was in my teens when mulan came out, the sauce was just "okay". Thats why you never saw them try to bring it back. i can definitely see mcdonalds talking with the cartoon network execs in some last ditch attempt to boost relevances. Now i really love rick and morty, but i kind of find a good bit of the fan base a little too pretentious, kinda like some of futurama's too. So when i say, "yeah, the sauce was okay but no big deal," its fucking blasphemy
Mcdonalds is garbage. A lot of their attention lately feels like the disingenuous chest beating of a dying, faceless corporation
n/a FORKinmyDICK 2017-04-19
I would eager to say at least half the people who watch Rick and Morty never even heard of the sauce at McDonald's before the episode.
n/a Nufalkes 2017-04-19
I think they are just taking good advantage of things mentioning their name.
n/a KickedinTheDick 2017-04-19
Dudes gotta eat. Mcdonalds is the most widely available and cheapest place to grab a bite. Not that unbelieveable, really.
