So Donald Trump Would Win? No. Nobody would win. You have to gain 270 electoral votes to win, remember?

So What Then? Obama Stays In Office? Funny, but no.

In the event that no candidate is able to attain 270 electoral votes, then the House of Representatives picks a President FROM THE THREE TOP CANDIDATES.

Is this a conspiracy? Well, kinda not exactly. But /r/conspiracy is the only thinking, open-to-new-ideas subreddit that I know of. Where else should this go, to the non-existent /r/unapproved_unknown ?

EDIT: When I wrote "elected" I meant "elected via the electoral college".

Nice find! This prompted me to do a bit of reading & things could get very interesting, indeed.

The "absolute majority" rule would cause each member of congress to have one vote for president and one for vice president. So theoretically, should something like this occur, and if congress cannot produce a President with 2/3 majority by January 20, the Vice President elect shall serve as POTUS until they can reach an agreement. This could cause Kaine or Pence to take the Oval Office as acting president for an indefinite period. Further, it looks as if sitting members of congress would retain their seats until a president is elected (totally unclear about that bit.)

If neither a POTUS or VP is chosen, the Speaker of the House would become acting president until a deadlock is decided.

This election could get divide-by-zero crazy before it over.
