Yeah, because no young people vote, but old people do, and they don't give a fuck about the NSA spying on their Vongo pay per call phone or Windows 1995 machine in the attic or their checking book. The rest of the country knows this woman would triple the NSA's power in a second.
The young people try to vote. But when they fracture and vote green or libertarian or constitutional and see their party doesn't even hit double digits then they either give up and vote for the lesser of two evils or stop voting entirely.
First past the post voting is a joke and it needs to be fixed.
Correct me if i'm off but i thought Clinton and Obama were the "youth vote" winners? American voters are a sorry mess, they are uninformed, ill-educated and easily duped. The young voters expressly more so; older, more involved (but still wrong, imho) voters can list a litany of position points, and remember history. Young voters have swayed elections but voted for the same shit, believing rhetoric alone. Few people have the balls to think/vote outside the box enough to matter much.
Obama for sure, I agree with you 100% there. Clinton, absolutely not. Clinton doesn't stand a chance in winning the White House. She has an amazing chance at winning the democratic primary, and she probably will, but she's far too polarizing to win the White House.
The US electorate is very polarized, with or without Hillary. Heck, look at Congress vs Obama the last 6 years.
Hillary absolutely will win the D primary, no chance of losing unless she has a crippling heart attack or something. She'll probably win the general election, since the R's seem to be bunch of scary clowns. Maybe the R's will come up with a decent candidate; not holding my breath.
Yes. But I see this as a good thing. The straw that broke the camomiles back. Obama might get a ton of hate. But he is still a guy. If a woman did the same thing as just the last two potus has done the would eat her alive. (Note: I don't think that is right but it's the way things work from what I have seen.)And sadly it wont be because they all have it coming but because she's a woman.
NAFTA fucked us, he didn't inhale, and he was useless overall. Consummate politician. If you want to wear a tinfoil hat you can talk about Mena and a lot of 'suicides' as well.....I don't buy into that but he was a shady dude overall. Product of the environment. Not a great pres by ANY stretch.
I'll take her over any of the Republicans. Would be nice to have Bernie Sanders or Elizabeth Warren, but that's not going to happen.
On military/intel/security/wars/NSA/whistleblowers and money-in-politics, I see few differences among Obama, Clinton, any of the R's. But on many other issues (climate change, religion, gay rights, immigration, healthcare), I'll take any D over any R.
I should have said "any R that I currently know of". If the R's can come up with a candidate who will fight climate change, stop going to war, reform healthcare, I'd vote for him/her in a heartbeat.
Anyone who harps about debt and balanced-budget amendment etc, without being able to say "we need to cut the military budget", is trying to have it both ways. He has said a few things about cutting "waste" in the military budget; that's an attempt to imply there's some free lunch.
"End the Federal Reserve" is a pretty stupid position. Someone has to control the currency. Who does he propose do it ? Congress ? President ? And the Fed does more than just control the currency. He's just pandering to the angry anti-govt wing.
He opposes same-sex marriage.
He wants to cut corporate tax rate. He's against "punishing the rich". He's a supply-side tax-cutter.
Seems to be a climate-change denier and "drill more" guy, at least in terms of his stated positions/votes on legislation.
He thinks we should exit the UN.
I like his position on "stop getting into foreign wars".
Seems to be against healthcare reform, in favor of the "free market" which led to 48 million uninsured.
His position on immigration seems semi-reasonable, but trying to avoid an "amnesty" tag.
He supports raising Social Security retirement age, says it's a Ponzi scheme, seems to favor privatizing it ?
Bottom line: I disagree with most of his positions.
Dude shut the fuck up already. You obviously don't see the way the system works . You seriously think your fucking vote matters ? Wake the fuck up allready man.
He can't/won't end the federal reserve. Forget about it.
Regarding same sex marriage: He has to say that, but he doesn't care, just like Hillary Clinton and Obama were publicly against same sex marriage until very recently because the majority of their constituency didn't support it. He won't actually do anything about it.
As far as climate change goes, I think this is another distracting political issue. There is nothing the US can do to stop massive carbon emissions worldwide and halt the change to our atmosphere. Nothing. I'm a realist/nihilist on this. The democrat party only achieves minuscule measures in this regard (raising fleet fuel efficiency requirements) that will have no real effect on our climate but win them political points.
With respect to the "free market" leading to 48 million uninsured, what we have now is not a "free market" in any sense of the word. American healthcare is severely regulated in many ways that increase costs and decrease access. We need to be either more truly free market (as in allowing individuals to buy any plan they want from their insurers without the gov. stepping in) or go full nationalized health care. The latter is a long way off, so at the moment, deregulation is what would help in the near term.
In short, what I'm saying is that the things you disagree with the man on are things he mostly has to say because of political realities, but that he won't or can't act on. What he CAN and would do as president is roll back our foreign military involvement and domestic spying programs. I don't know about you, but those are my hot button issues.
Much respect regardless of how you choose to vote.
More like people shouldn't care as much about his positions regarding things he has no power over. Let's say he was staunchly anti-abortion. It doesn't matter because the president can't overturn judicial precedent unilaterally. I mean, on the left I've heard people say things like "I know Barack is really for gay marriage" or "he's not really a Christian, he just has to say that." If you're willing to make those concessions for a candidate running as a Democrat, why not the same for the other side? As far as Hillary goes, I could never vote for someone as outright criminal and phony as she is. Do you think she believes anything she says for a second rather than simply stating carefully researched positions in order to attain more power? Come on now.
Hmm, I don't agree about the positions-power thing. Sure, president doesn't make the laws. But he/she occupies a terrific bully pulpit, has fair amount of charge over massive bureaucracy, fairly direct control over military and foreign policy, lots of power in many ways. No, given a choice, I tend to vote based on the stated positions of a candidate. And I don't say those things about Obama.
Yes, I think Hillary really believes we should have voting reform, healthcare reform, fight climate change, supports gay rights, etc. Sure, she's a politician. Probably no better or worse than many others in terms of "phony". I don't think she's "criminal". Republicans have been trying to get her for about 25 years now, and haven't tagged her with anything serious.
I think she's going to be a pretty good president. And I do think she will win the election.
I disagree with some of her positions, especially on military/security/NSA/war/whistleblowers, where she's much too hard-line for me. But so is every other electable politician these days, it seems.
this bitch is so obviously a retard i cant believe anyone takes her seriously.....the media whores propping this thing up have such a dim view of us... that in its self should be enough for a torch and pitchfork run on the whitehouse...the same goes for jebby boy.. and any of his lacky competitors.
One of these days I am really going to get in to trouble for this stuff. r/conspiracy has way more that view her than is subscribe. All well story of my life. Bring it!
I'm pretty sure in the early days the Clintons were involved in much worse. Seem to recall she made some pretty shady investments. Followed by massive destruction of evidence.
Haha yeah. There was that. If you ask the mainstream media it's just an amazing series of co-incidences, helicopter crashes, or other totally bizarre events. Either that or they killed off most of the people around them.
freedom is for everyone. we have our rights. no one can take them because they are inalienable. its everyones obligation to defend them. creating a society in defense of liberty had the cost of many lives because of greedy selfish corrupt individuals and the organizations they create. but they are illegitimate regardless of what heinous acts of violence they commit upon others as they point to words on paper. constitution and bill of rights are also just pieces of paper with words but they state the truth that freedom and liberty are the birthright of every person and can never be justly revoked by men.
Do you really think she, alone, installed and operated her servers? She had other persons involved with the installation and maintenance of these "servers".
I just don't think the two things are relatable. I also don't agree with the broad use of this law as it was intended to target corporations under active investigation, not people. The reasoning here is they charged the guy because he was under investigation when it happened. You don't have to agree with those charges to see why it happened and why Hillary isn't applicable to the same kind of charge - she wasn't under active investigation by the FBI at the time she 'cleared' her email servers.
Frankly, I think deleting some emails is a bullshit distraction being propped up by the right. You got all sorts of more tangible things you could be going after Hillary for.
it's not just "some" emails. it is tens of thousands of them. It includes emails that she was required to provide during previous investigations as well which means destruction of evidence, she was under active investigation by congress. The law is there because it is to also protect national security issues once a federal worker leaves their job. You aren't allowed to delete government emails without permission and you aren't allowed to keep and take home sensitive government documents/materials after you quit.
It's actually quite a big issue but media is trying very hard to downplay it.
All true. But the language is so broad it can be used. And tangible does not matter. none of these people are going to get in to trouble ever. I have been alive for 31 years as of next month and every time I see the news these insiders have done something so bad that they should all be in jail. But nothing. I just make trouble untill they put me in a black site or the picth folks come out. Ether way should be a blast.
Just because you're not being currently prosecuted doesn't mean you can do something illegal. As secretary of state the law is your communication must be made publicly available. She was secretary of state of the United States while running a global corporation that happened to be in partnership with people she dealt with in her role in the U.S government. The she deleted all the correspondence she wanted, which she had stashed on Private servers not the government ones they were supposed to be on. Then she brushed it off saying they were about yoga and wedding plans and handed back select emails with large convenient gaps spread throughout. Its absolutely unbelievably corrupt behavior and it should not be tolerated in anyone let alone someone who is running for the Highest office. Its insanity
Its because they decide to not want to understand because she says the things people want to hear. She tries to take as many 50% + positions as possible while still maintaining enough party loyalty. Notice almost every article about Hilary is either about a scandal or campaign strategy.
Not clear to me that she broke any law. She says she handed over the requested emails. Govt has no evidence that anything deleted should have been handed over instead.
destroying "any record, document or tangible object" with intent to obstruct a federal investigation.
I guess you are sorta right....until we know
what
she whiped out we don't know if it was done with the intention of obstruction. But if people are willing to give her the benefit of the doubt on that, it's too late for them.
"It includes emails that she was required to provide during previous investigations as well which means destruction of evidence, she was under active investigation by congress. "
Well, if govt doesn't know, it comes under "no probable cause" or something. Govt can't prosecute or subpoena or whatever unless it has some evidence of wrongdoing.
I don't know about that "previous investigations" thing; if she handed them in to the "previous investigations", then was she also required to not destroy her own copies ? Doesn't seem to make sense to me.
There are many things I don't like about Hillary. But she's going to be the D candidate, and the R's are horrifying. The R's are pandering to the religious, beating the war drums, denying climate change, obstructing progress on anything (healthcare, Wall Street regulation, immigration reform, etc).
There already exists evidence of wrongdoing though...
The law states that
1. her emails were to be done on government servers.
2. all emails/correspondence that is related to her job are to be kept by the government.
She broke the law right off the bat by refusing to use government servers and government email. She broke it again by keeping her server at her home without government oversight. She broke it again when she deleted emails.
In Clinton’s defense, we should note that it was only after Clinton left the State Department, that the National Archives issued a recommendation that government employees should avoid conducting official business on personal emails (though they noted there might be extenuating circumstances such as an emergency that require it). Additionally, in 2014, President Barack Obama signed changes to the Federal Records Act that explicitly said federal officials can only use personal email addresses if they also copy or send the emails to their official account.
Because these rules weren’t in effect when Clinton was in office, "she was in compliance with the laws and regulations at the time," said Gary Bass, founder and former director of OMB Watch, a government accountability organization.
The bottom line is this: No one will likely ever know what was deleted from Clinton's server. Barring one of the 30,000 emails Clinton turned over to the State Department being deemed "classified,"
it's also unlikely she will ever be found to have violated the letter of the law.
Benghazzzzziiiii is all that the Hillary haters can obsess with. She may not be your choice or mine for President but she is better than any of the right wing nuts vying for power.

Voting doesn't matter.
1 billdietrich1 2015-06-12
So, don't vote. But I will.
2 Raabiam 2015-06-12
Good luck with all that, sheep.
1 InlandThaiPanFry 2015-06-12
Akin to saying I'd eat a horse shit sandwich over a cow shit sandwich. Vote third party or be a fucking retard, your choice.
3 ShitSandwichOfficial 2015-06-12
Glad I have your vote in 2016!
0 billdietrich1 2015-06-12
Vote third party and increase the chances that a R will get in office ? No.
1 InlandThaiPanFry 2015-06-12
You're an idiot. Know how I know? Because you believe in the left-right paradigm. Good luck. Life is hard, even harder for idiots.
8 themadhat1 2015-06-12
this bitch is so obviously a retard i cant believe anyone takes her seriously.....the media whores propping this thing up have such a dim view of us... that in its self should be enough for a torch and pitchfork run on the whitehouse...the same goes for jebby boy.. and any of his lacky competitors.
5 Mylon 2015-06-12
These people aren't dumb. That's just part of the act so we don't realize how evil they are.

That's because revolting scum of the Earth run this planet.
2 dukey 2015-06-12
I'm pretty sure in the early days the Clintons were involved in much worse. Seem to recall she made some pretty shady investments. Followed by massive destruction of evidence.
2 mobius_racetrack 2015-06-12
and sudden death syndrome?
2 dukey 2015-06-12
Haha yeah. There was that. If you ask the mainstream media it's just an amazing series of co-incidences, helicopter crashes, or other totally bizarre events. Either that or they killed off most of the people around them.
1 mobius_racetrack 2015-06-12
Lotta interesting interviews with people that were around him also.

freedom is for everyone. we have our rights. no one can take them because they are inalienable. its everyones obligation to defend them. creating a society in defense of liberty had the cost of many lives because of greedy selfish corrupt individuals and the organizations they create. but they are illegitimate regardless of what heinous acts of violence they commit upon others as they point to words on paper. constitution and bill of rights are also just pieces of paper with words but they state the truth that freedom and liberty are the birthright of every person and can never be justly revoked by men.
1 holocauster-ride 2015-06-12
She also betrayed America to Russia for money.
-1 laliluleno 2015-06-12
Do you really think she, alone, installed and operated her servers? She had other persons involved with the installation and maintenance of these "servers".
-2 Dr__House 2015-06-12
I just don't think the two things are relatable. I also don't agree with the broad use of this law as it was intended to target corporations under active investigation, not people. The reasoning here is they charged the guy because he was under investigation when it happened. You don't have to agree with those charges to see why it happened and why Hillary isn't applicable to the same kind of charge - she wasn't under active investigation by the FBI at the time she 'cleared' her email servers.
Frankly, I think deleting some emails is a bullshit distraction being propped up by the right. You got all sorts of more tangible things you could be going after Hillary for.
8 Sumner67 2015-06-12
it's not just "some" emails. it is tens of thousands of them.
2 bonehowler45 2015-06-12
2 smokeyjoe69 2015-06-12

-6 billdietrich1 2015-06-12
Not clear to me that she broke any law. She says she handed over the requested emails. Govt has no evidence that anything deleted should have been handed over instead.
5 DenSem 2015-06-12
I guess you are sorta right....until we know what she whiped out we don't know if it was done with the intention of obstruction. But if people are willing to give her the benefit of the doubt on that, it's too late for them.
Edit: /u/sumner67 pointed out:
-1 billdietrich1 2015-06-12
2 Sumner67 2015-06-12
That's just the start of things.
1 billdietrich1 2015-06-12
I think it's not so clear. See for example http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/article/2015/mar/12/hillary-clintons-email-did-she-follow-all-rules/ , which includes
startquote
