The cops are out in force on reddit today. I have never seen so many pro-police comments on reddit before or so many downvotes for for those who bad-mouth them!

Reddit has been compromised, for some time now.

Yea, for about 9 years now.

To be fair the past couple years seems to have been the worst, especially the past 6 mos.

When I noticed all advertised, sidebar AMA's were just celebs there to promote their new projects, I realized this site was done.

wrong and ignorant thing to write and up vote. The Aaron Schwartz murder was a turning point.

For some reason I read your comment in the voice of cartman. It's a fucking message board with voting, there are many different groups on here not just those who believe in your point of view. It's not a fucking safe house or some clandestine hub of secret information, it hasn't been compromised because that would imply there was some sort of integrity in the first place. it's just the way the format is. It's open to any asshole to spew whatever educated or uneducated opinion or bullshit they would like , as this sub is ample proof of.

It's owned by Advance Communication. Same fuckers who immediately put The Discovery Channel into 24/7 Hitler programming hours after the 9/11 attacks.

If you didn't know this, you haven't been paying attention.

R/news is the worst! I can't stand the commenters in there.

worldnews is just as bad, lately its been insanely pro-israeli.

And comically anti-Russian, not that I'm hardcore pro-Russia but even factual and relatively unbiased comments face heavy downvoting if it goes against the 'Russia is evil' fearmongering circlejerk.

Oh yeah, definitely. Reminds me of why I almost always avoid the big, default subreddits. They have decent links, sometimes, but the discussion is fucking terrible. It feels like a totally different reddit where (even more than usually) ignorant shit is upvoted.

Here here

I have to confess that I've deliberately made pro-Palestinian comments there just to watch Israel's propaganda machine in action.

its always been pro israeli

pop that pussy.

Fuck that chicken.

I don't about that too many use reddit as PR now. And bots be abound that can up or down vote something to easily now. As for common sense I have always that phrase to be miss leading as sense has never been that common.

Hamas is defending what little ground of THEIR occupied country they have left. Isreal has no right to the land and they know it. That is why they want all Palestinians dead. Everything else about the situation is a lullaby to put people to sleep and not see the reality of the situation.

Most dead * and the rest gone.

lol. you're such a shill.

[deleted]

Lol

i take it you don't understand the meaning of "literally." rofl

Any government can and will do bad things. Comes from being able to tell others what to do and not do them yourself. And on the flip side you can say I was just following orders. As for the 9/11( I had just join the army 2 months before we was hit. and even the top brass didn't think they was being told the whole truth so until the they show the whole truth we going to get things like the truthers are saying.) But my common sense tell me we should stop feed the idiotic Leaders of the two factions and start empowering the individuals thou technology and outer space exploration and get rid of the need for all these power grapes this will be the state of the world until all sides lose.

Not sure about the 1,000,000 users but it isn't that far fetched to think a country uses a website as a platform for propaganda. In fact, if a country doesn't try to use big websites as a platform for propaganda, they are incredibly stupid for refusing to utilize such an effective tool.

If you back a snake into the corner, don't act shocked when it strikes back.

I can tell you what Solomon would do...slice that baby in two and see which momma pleaded, "PLEEEEEEEEASE, NOOOOO!", and then grant the lucky duck to her.

edit: 'grant'

And yarmulkes. Lots of yarmulkes.

shine bright like a diamond

look for police puppies memes to build complacency

You mean like police holding puppies?

Yup, what a coincidence this was highly upvoted out of nowhere:

Cops absolutely have the right to stop rioters. What they DON'T have the right to do is deny the press their right to document their efforts. They DON'T have the right to assume peaceful protests are rioters. They are there to catch people who commit crimes. They can't & shouldn't try to prevent crime by punishing people before a crime is committed. It is ineffective, unconstitutional, & quite frankly, lazy. I don't know if the kid was innocent or not. I wasn't there, but what I do know is that Ferguson police responded to the situation in a way that only incited more violence, & violated the Constitution. Looks like the State Patrol might be better policemen than these wanna-be Ferguson Army.
Real police don't bother me. Now that the State Patrol has relieved these loons, I bet things calm down. We'll see.

Fuck 'em.

Oh no! Someone expressed an opinion different than yours! Better go on a diatribe on how reddit is pro-cop/pro-Israeli/pro- whatever you disagree with! Or better yet, label them shills!

Shills? That would be silly, no one manipulates social media, especially Reddit. Every poster here is definitely a normal person browsing the web.

Forget the fact that several agency's handbooks on how to be an internet shill have been leaked, that doesn't actually happen.

Something only a shill for Reddit would say. You're a Reddit shill! Admit it!

I didn't label any one a shill just pointing out a anomaly.

Link?

I would appreciate a link too, but I can confirm its rather disgusting.

They have a right to go home 2 their FAMILIES!!1 Its hard work!! They're BRAVER THAN U!!

That crap.

*their

FTFY

Lol the real hard work comes from gaining independence of the system that is penetrating their ass like a puppet

So, being willing to commit crimes without remorse?

Not at all. Being able to support yourself without relying on banks/insurance/police etc.

Sorry I have no link or proof other than what you can see for yourself r/news is a good place to look. Wish I know how to make a bot that could sort it out. Still learning how to make one. If anyone does this is a good point. All I know for sure is that reddit has been mostly been a free form of a water cooler talk until reddit became a news feed like twitter and facebook. Man I wish I knew how to make a bot.

Yeah don't we all :p

Hi, I'm here to further today's agenda.

Ask me anything!

I posted this meme http://i.imgur.com/X56FxLh.jpg in /r/adviceanimals and it was immediately downvoted. I had two people comment on it with how great cops are

Edit: the title was "FYI, this is a common tactic used in dictatorships"

I thought the comments in some threads seemed a tad, er, patriotic.

This is how you know you're having an effect and winning.

there's one damage control post on r/conspiracy front right now

Ahmerghad! People with a different opinion! Must be a conspiracy!

[deleted]

Why would the government care what Reddit thinks? We have effectively no control over anything they care to do. Public support isn't necessary at any level for a government as corrupt as /r/conspiracy seems to think ours is.

What are you talking about? Reddit was the reason SOPA was stopped a few years back. Nowadays at least some money is spent making sure something like that won't happen again.

Reddit was the reason SOPA was stopped

heheh .. ur funny

Well, no, not at all. Reddit is a very small fraction of the internet, which as I'm sure you know, is very very large, and SOPA was protested in every internet forum across the US.

I tell ya what if one of them killed my kid for no reason wouldn't be so many of them left to be out in force. That's a fact jack. I will do like Richard Pryor said those double Muslims do , I will go down but I'm taking out 8 or 9 of those pig bastards with me.

No, you wouldn't.

How do you know this? Do you realize what it is for a parent to lose a child? Obviously not.

I wholeheartedly agree, although you're a bit low with what the body count would be.

Not in Conspiracy, you are safe here!

It's probably thanks to Snowden. Everyone was pro-Stasi (East German police) because they knew they were being watched.

Snowden is a psyop first and whistleblower second.

It came in two stages - Assange for foreign policy and Snowden for domestic policy. They're the government's "bad guy" puppets.

Would you elaborate, if you don't mind?

Us lurkers are tired of being bad mouthed by people who have jumped to conclusions, where very few facts have been released.

Further, if it WAS a bad cop, we shouldn't all be judged by the actions of one. Just as all X people shouldn't be judged by the actions of one X person.

Sucks to be at the mercy of other people's judgment whims, doesn't it?

[deleted]

Maybe we shouldn't think of the world as black and white...

Only in old pictures, or new ones for effect.

Only Sith deal in absolutes.

I live in kansas. Every redneck would love a SHTF here and the cops and the poeple try to mess stuff up would lose bad. bad bad! Each house hold has enough guns to supply the whole block 10x over. Poor as hell but have nice ass car they built themselves and guns. The type of guns you could commit a war crime with.

So you don't think the police should be trying to stop the riots? You think these animals destroying gas stations is ok?

Dont refer to them as "animals" it makes you sound racist and less credible

How does it make me sound racist? If you assume animals means black then you are racist.

Hmm.. how to put it? I don't hate cops. But I don't think the are really needed ether. That is the old way. We have insane technology now. That there is no need for money. What I care about is lost of life and cops kill more than those who died over seas. And very few cops have died in return. The problem is money at the roots of all of this. All the hate the mistrust stem from the need for money. So if we have the problem solving skills to deal with this than why don't we? We can rebuild from this WE HAVE THE TECHNOLOGY to be gods. And may the rest of the cosmos fear our coming.( I only care about humans eff the rest of the planets.)

Wait wait... did you just say cops are not really needed? So... technology will solve murders and prevent arson? Did you seriously just say that?

Cops rarely solve murders or prevent arson; let alone get convictions for the same.

The war on drugs is their bread and butter.

Ok so what does that have to do with him saying cops are not needed...

They're barely needed as it is, and cause more harm than they're worth. End the war on drugs and disarm the police.

Wow really more harm? You really think we don't need police? Seriously?

I don't think we need heavily armed paramilitary roving our streets and knocking down our doors.

My community is safe because it's full of decent people who are capable and able of serving their basic needs, not because of the threat of extreme violence should they step out of line. That threat doesn't exist, because I don't live in America.

So yes you do think we need cops? Just not militarised ones? Got it, you should have said that. Its way better than saying "we don't need cops". That just made you sound stupid

Check the thread history; I never made such a claim.

We don't need anybody who can get up every morning absolutely certain he can get away with anything he does, which is the default state for what are called "police" in the US. At least a 'civilian' criminal knows he may be caught, convicted and punished; the "police" have none of those inhibitions.

Wait so you do not need we need ANY police force? Yes or no.

Not as you understand the term. Clearly peacekeepers are needed, but not in the role and kind we currently have, and certainly not as a professional class of over-citizens.

You should hve mentioned the private security in Detroit that is turning a lot of heads. :)

What I said is there's no place for immune-from-consequences police. Back away from the strawman. If you want a debate on the size of the 'profession', start a new thread.

If you keep up with technology you would already know about the advances in the bio and cyborgics and nanotechnology. If you can't kill anyone then there is no murder. And what is arson when you can rebuild back in a day.Take all the fun from those who get enjoyment from that kind of thing. Please try to keep up with the times. We in the USA are so backwards. It's like I live back in the 1800's. We know all there is to know and we are going to change./s

Um.. so are you being sarcastic or not? Hearing someone say cops are not needed is one of the dumbest things I have ever read

Cops are need for the now or we would have the purge every day of the week, BUT technology will make them obsolete. And we need to start working on this or you are going to be rule over by people that have robots that care even less about your life than the cops now.

which side will you choose?

Definitely not the cops. And if you had half a brain, you wouldn't either.

Yeah don't we all :p

I wholeheartedly agree, although you're a bit low with what the body count would be.
